SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantIs it time to label Favors a bust? What’s his future look like. This guy had so much potential coming into the league. Thoughts?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantNot a bust. Just having a down year thus far. He has been dealing with some minor injuries and the emergence of gobert and Utah’s increased frontcourt depth has kind of left him as the odd man out in a way. I don’t know how well he pairs with gobert. Not sure how he really fits in with their future plans and I wouldn’t be surprised to see his name floated around in trade rumors as the deadline approaches. I think there would definitely be interest from several teams as he has shown he can play at close to an all-star level when healthy and engaged.

pe3ucTopParticipantIt’s hard to even call it a down year, it’s all injury related. He looked like a beast in preseason, looked like he’s taken yet another step forward before he got injured(IT Band Syndrome) and had to be sidelined for a month. Then he was on minutes restrictions because of his injury and didn’t look like himself, and then he got another injury(bone bruise) in a game against Miami and the Jazz decided to shut him down until he recovers. He’s getting back into game shape right now and the Jazz have been increasing his minutes gradually and he started in the last game vs the Lakers. He’s been on minutes restriction pretty much in every single game he’s played this season.

markfitz14ParticipantYeah he is kind of a tough fit next to Gobert now. Most teams want to have one of the bigs be able to stretch the floor.

pe3ucTopParticipantWTF? How is he a bust? He’s a top 30 player in the league when healthy? He’s one of the best two way bigs in the league.
His year so far has been marred by 2 injuries that kept him out for most games and limited for the rest of them. He’s just getting back on his feet and getting in game shape.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantHe’s a bust in my opinion..was selected over Cousins Bledsoe and Hayward..when you take a player that high with that potential he needs to demand all of the above. And Favors has been well below demand. Bust City IMO

HazelParticipantInjury Prone: That is a lable he has probably earned.
Hard worker, team guy. Just can’t seem to stay healthy. The Jazz have not had their top 7 players healthy for a single game in the last two seasons. Frustrating. If things go as planned and nobody gets reinjured, they will be fully healthy for the first time since then. Then, let’s see what happens. Favors could be the difference in the playoffs.

LOFTYParticipantI have not missed a jazz game in years, that being said id love to see him get traded. he has zero mid-range game and has no low post moves. he gets just about one lucky shot a game. he airballs a wide open shot at least once a game. ive noticed when healthy it seems like he has lost the one upside he had which is defense. I get the vibe he has given up on both ends of the court. he is the ONLY jazz player that makes me cringe when they pass him the ball.
