xavier328ParticipantCant see him passing up the opportunity to play along side Dwight…and the Net moving to New York should be a Plus….i know he’s from Dallas….but its going to be hard.

Critically ThinkingParticipantwho says orlandos gonna trade dwight in time for deron to KNOW hes gonna be in brooklyn? IMO they should trade dwight now. the way stan has coached these guys through the first round winning a road game, and then losing in a heartbreaking OT, which couldve tied it up 2-2, i think stan should stay. whether its to the nets or somewhere else, i think orlando should get what they can for dwight. As for Deron, I think Dallas is a likely destination, but the only problem with going there is….who do they have for the future?? Theyre core group of players are all old and past their primes. If they dont win in the next year or two, that team could be dismantled and Deron would then be looking at a rebuilding situation all over again.

PulseGlazerParticipantAll reports out of Orlando have them looking to move Dwight around the draft. He’s supposedly just done. Since I can’t imagine the Lakers moving Bynum for him now, that means NJ is in the drivers seat. That said, unless Avery and King are gone, if I’m Dwight, I have no interest in Brooklyn.

CavsFan07ParticipantAn even more interesting question: What does Dallas do if Deron Williams DOESN’T sign with them?
If the Nets do a draft-day deal with the Magic for Dwight (although I see this being unlikely), there’s a high chance Deron re-signs with them.
Just a WHAT IF type of scenario, what do the Mavs do then?

bobbybParticipantHOW can the Nets do a draft day deal with a draft pic?? IF Orlando is going to dump their franchise player, they will be looking for draft pics

CavsFan07Participantbobby: Simple answer – if the Nets end up with a top 3 pick in the lottery, they retain it and could use it as serious trade bait. If the Nets WIN the Lottery, why wouldn’t the Magic take a package of Anthony Davis + other picks? Again, I still don’t see Orlando dealing him on draft night. For whatever reason I see them foolishly holding onto him next season, us having to deal with the dramatic saga that is Dwight Howard that entire time, and then him walking at the end of the season. IF ANYTHING, he’ll be traded at the trade deadline IMO.

PulseGlazerParticipantSupposedly the Magic aren’t looking to go into full tear-down mode after Dwight and draft picks aren’t the goal. I know- I think it’s dumb, too.

The QParticipantI don’t see how a deal can be done unless that pick is top 3 and not Davis.
Gerald Wallace also can opt out and would kill the deal if he told both teams he was doing so.

IknoBall12ParticipantOrlando is not gonna be known as the franchise who chose van gundy over dwight howard. Dwight willl not be moved and deron will end up in dallas. its going to be a sweet homecoming
