llperezjust saw on both tmz.com and espn.com that derek is unhappy with the lakers offers and he is flying out to miami to meet with pat riley. Last I heard, the lakers offered him 1 year for 2.5 mill and he was asking for 2 years and 10 mill. It would be very interesting if he leaves for miami.
Im kinda torn on this. On one side i really appreciate what he does. BUt at the same time, he makes a couple big shots and people nut their pants. He didnt hit his first 3 in the finals until game 7. He did win game 3 though for them and played pretty solid d on ray allen. But man he stunk during the regular season and im curious if there arent other guys likes blake and maybe someone else who could come in and do what he does.
What are your guys thoughts?

Michael.S.ParticipantThe Heat don’t have money like that to give him. Would he really leave Kobe for LeBron? Plus his team just won the damn championship.

IndianaBasketballParticipantYou have to bring him back. Period. He’s a leader and he makes huge shots. People busted one in their pants because if not for those shots, the Lakers don’t win.
Kobe trusts him. Bring him back. Little Rock means a lot to the squad.

Da1potParticipantIf he leaves, will the Lakers resign Farmar? I know they have Blake , but how will this decision affect Farmar?

kaceyParticipantOhh. I’m feeling another “The Decision” segment, this one featuring Derek Fisher.

Mr.Knick 32Participanthe makes a couple big shots and people nut their pants
I rather have a dude who hits big shots then none at all.

llperezyeah, he hit big shots which there is nothing wrong with that. But he also missed a lot of shots and he couldnt gaurd any pg’s. Westbrook lit him up and they had to put kobe on him. DWill and nash lit him up, but the lakers were just better at other positions and won. No way was he gonna gaurd rondo. Luckily ray allen is not a great one on one player and fish is great at chasing through screens which is why the only good d he played was in the finals. Even then ray got tons of open looks and just missed them. If you have a solid gaurd who brings it for 48 minutes, maybe the lakers wouldnt need fish to hit tough shots at the end of games becasue they would already be ahead. Like I said, he didnt hit his first 3 until game 7 in the finals and he got tons of credit for the ones he did hit.
Im not against bringign back fish, but he is clearly the lakers weak link and i think there are other guys who could come in and do what he does minus the occasional big shot.

bkb77Participantwow imagine if d.fish left kobe to go with kobes eniemy lebron. Kobe would flip out on ownership if they let him walk & go 2 miami. Bottomline d.fish will be back with LAL, they will give him the 2nd yr.

NashyMingParticipantThe Heat has the MLE now.
If they don’t use it on Mike Miller, they can use it on Derek Fisher.
