     This is tragic:

I still hope he gets his act together.

Very sad to see, I was always a fan of his. He was a baller and I remember him coming up big in some games. He obviously has some internal issues he needs to figure out, I hope he can get the help he needs. Sad story.

I don’t think most realize what Delonte’s situation is/was. This is not a case of some former NBA player who “blew it” West suffers from some sort of “Bi-polar disorder”, Unless you know someone who has had that, you have no idea how hard it is to live with this.

He was a good, tough player IMO. I wish him the best.

Kanye West and Axl Rose also have bi-polar.

When they finally take Kanye away in a strait jacket, he’ll be screaming about Taylor Swift. Then they’ll force him to get back on his anti-psychotics and they’ll let him out after a while.

Mental illness is as tough on a persons family and friends as it is on the person afflicted.  It is hard to get them to accept, admit and be receptive to the help they need.

That St. Joes Hawks squad led by Delonte West & Jameer Nelson & coached by Phil Martelli was so good….. They finished 30 – 2…. captured a #1 seed & narrowly lost a chance at a Final Four berth in 64 – 62 Loss to the Oklahoma State Cowboys who were led by Tony Allen, John Lucas III & Joey Graham in the Regional Finals (Final 8)……

I remember the Network did a special piece on the Hawks & West…… And Delonte West was an Incredible Artist….. This kid could draw black & white lanscapes & paint like you would Not believe!

But even then, he was very honest w/ the reporter that he really struggled with being shy & getting all this attention was a great struggle for him….. I remember being suprised that someone so young could be so honest about being vulnerable like that…..

It’s so sad to see him struggling like this 10 years later…..  Hopefully this will be the beginning of West getting help & turning it around
