llperezDelon Wright from Utah is my pick to win the pac 12 poy award mext year and i believe a major sleeper in this upcoming draft. Delon was a 2 year juco player before transferring to Utah last year as a junior. HIs first taste of D1 play (in what was really a solid year for the pac 12 conference as a whole) he averaged 15.5ppg…6.8rpg…5.3apg…2.5stls…1.3blcks…and shot 56% from the field. He is an elite defender and as a 6-5 pg, he can do it all with his range playing and finishing inside while beating guys off the dribble from the perimter.
Delon led Utah to a solid improvement despite not having other elite talent around him. The utes went 15-18(5-13) the year before he showed up and then improved to 21-12 (9-9) with him last year and were very competive in some of their losses to ranked teams like arizona.
Delon must improve his jump shot which is a major weakness at this point (funny considering his brother dorrell has made an nba living off his jumper) so we will see if he has improved in that area next year.
Anyone have any thoughts on this guy, who they think might take pac 12 poy over him or where he could go in draft?

SwatLakeCityParticipantThe next Damian Lillard? Okay, a bigger one. But you gotta admit, the similarities are there. Lillard went from small school, 2nd round draft pick expectations to college star, and untimately to high draft pick expectations and the #6 pick in the 2012 draft. So does Wright, well so far. He doesn’t have that much expectations right now only being the 32nd pick in the 2015 mock. Maybe he makes the jump to lottery consideration with being the PAC-12 POY if you are right? Then he can contend with Emmanuel Mudiay and Tyus Jones for top PG of the 2015 draft!

SwatLakeCityParticipantIts not a comparison of playing styles. Just more a comparison of rise to success and fame.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantArizona is expected to be the best team in the PAC 10 next season and if they are the league’s best team at season end..1 of their players could win the award either Jefferson who might be the best nba prospect in the conference, or McConnell who did a great job running the team this past season..
But it wouldnt surprise me if Wright won the award..He is an exceptional 2 way player,a stats sheet stuffer,he can run the point, score in traffic and rebounds well for a guard..He might become a better player than his brother, who is kind of 1 dimensional..Wright if he continues to blossom could be a mid to late 1st rounder ….
