for you, why dejuan blair is better than gani lawal for nba draft.net ?
why gani lawal isn’t in the first fuorteen positions of 2009 nba draft?

Dejuan Blair has put up big numbers his first two years of college basketball.. not only are his numbers better than Lawals, but I believe that this seasons Big East competition night in and night out is better than that of the ACC. Also, Blairs team has consistently remained amongst the top 5 teams all season long. Gani Lawal has alot more potential long term than Dejuan Blair, but its Dejuans production, not upside, that gets him drafted a little earlier than Lawal. I PERSONALLY would take Lawal over Blair any day because of his potential but thats just me. I really don’t know why Blair is being projected to get picked before Lawal. Probably because players simliar to Lawal (Tyrus Thomas, Brandan Wright, Cedric Simmons) havent really lived up to their potential (yet). Whereas players similar to Blair (Leon Powe, Paul Millsap, Carl Landry) are proving they can produce consistently despite their lack of size.

I badmouth blair from time to time, but i would not feel comfortable taking gani lawal over him. Lawal will be a bust in the league but i think blair will be too. Lawal will just be a bigger bust.
