MopgrassParticipantBefore the rain of negs, let’s look at how crazy this statement isn’t. Last week, nbadraft.com had Kris Dunn going 5th this year and Dehounte Murray going 6th (in next year’s extraordinary class). Already, that makes them pretty even. More importantly, he’s been absolutely killing it the last 7 games. All year, Dunn has been a little better from 3, at FG%, assists, points, etc. But recently, everything has clicked for Dejounte and we’re looking at a different player.
The top reason many would argue Dunn over Dejounte is because we’ve been talking about Dunn all year, thinking Dejounte wasn’t ready. In the beginning of the year he really, really wasn’t. He’s a bit wild with turnovers and his percentages weren’t great. That’s the same way Dunn started his extremely limited freshman season too . Dunn’s had two more years.
Kris Dunn is the professional. That’s his approach. He works hard and does things right. He is a smart pick, a safe pick, and great pick. Dejounte has more upside: from his age to his playmaking to his incredible ability to get the rack. He has a substantial handle, juke moves, is 6’5″ and has very long arms. It took him all season to figure out college ball. Now he really has it and if you haven’t been paying attention (because he hadn’t been giving you a reason to), it’s time to now. He has one more game on TV on March 21st against San Diego State (ESPN2?). You should watch it if you haven’t see him. He can really make things happen.

TRC1991ParticipantBeing a husky fan and having watched every play by Murray this year…I have to tell you…He’s so f****** talented, he will be a star at the next level. But I’m hoping he comes back. He needs to gain 15 lbs, work on his 3 point shot, finishing through contact, and decision-making.
But he’s such a baller

Bankroll PJParticipantI hope he comes back just to see him play against Lonzo Ball at UCLA next year. Both big and very talented PGs. It’ll be interesting to see how Murray plays with Markelle Fultz in the mix next year too if he comes back for another year.
P.S. Marquese Criss is another underrated and very talented player for Washington. Could be a lottery pick next year.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI like him a lot and I watch tons of Washington games because they are a very talented team. That being said I wouldn’t draft him ahead of Dunn if he enters this years draft. I believe he will do himself a disservice by entering this years draft. I believe he would be drafted higher if he enters this years draft than next years draft, but he would be better by coming back and he will be a better pro by coming back to college. I typically would say you should go pro and improve his game, but this is a rare case for me hoping for a player to go back and improve his game.
He is wildly inconsistent, shooting is not good, body is a bit thin, and he is kind of turnover prone. His shooting stats are 41% – 29% – 66% and is averaging 3.3 turnovers per game. I believe even if he drops in next years draft he will be better suited for the league.

warson24Murray has real talent. But he should come back as he’s still a work in progress. The Huskies would be a very interesting team to watch with three potential lottery picks in Murray, Fultz and Chriss, plus Dickerson and Dime, they should contend.

phila9012ParticipantAs a twolves fan, he is just the type of player they should take a risk on. They would have a tall and skilled positionless lineup with him. Even if they keep rubio, if he focused on a standing still three pointer he would fit great. I know all the players would need to improve their shooting and defense, the defense could be fixed by hiring tom thibedeau. Although the wolves could really use any player since all their players can play multiple postions.

holefillers1ParticipantHe can go to the combine and based on the feedback he can stay in the draft or go back to college. Sweet new rule and I foresee a lot of players using this if only for the chance to workout with NBA teams, one workout per team per year. I have a feeling Dejounte Murray’s calender will be filled up.
