I still dont understand why he fell. Its mindblowing. Well here he comes and to be quite honest he has more potential then every player in this draft aside from Simmons, Ingram, Brown and Bender and quite frankly I could argue he has just as much talent as the players on tjat list.

Coach Pop had decided to have him flourish in the D-League and improve on his shot selection and become more careful with the ball. He has been very turnover prone averaging 4 per 36-minutes. He has imoroved on those two things and has been rewarded with minutes.

In case you missed the Spurs last two games what ou missed is Kaehi Leonards career high and Dejaunte Murrays coming out party.

    24-points, 2-rebounds, 2-assists, 3-5 three pointers, 7-11 FG, 7-7 FT against Denver.

    14-points, 2-rebounds, 6- assists, 7-10 FG against Cleveland.

This is without playing in crunchtime and with only 3-turnovers.The kid is just special. He is elite athlete from a verticle, agile, first step and quickness standpoint. He has a great floater game, a silky jumoer, can finish in traffic, an awesome handle and sees the floor. He is also a pesky defender yet badly needs to add weight.

I think he will be playing at an Allstar level sooner than later. It will be hard to make the cut as a gaurd in the West but the talent is defenitely there. Reminds me of two players Kyrie Irving/Jamaal Crawford. SLEPT ON.

Sorry for the spelling mistakes as of late. Thumbs are too big for the phone. Im sure it frustates me more than it frustrates you. Went to edit but ACCESS DENIED. That ACCESS DENIED message is more annoying than not saving your game console back in the day.

my sixers to grab him when he was available at 24 and 26, would have solved our pg problem last year. On the other hand, I can’t be mad with the TLC pick because I believe he will come into his own as well. Just have to wait and see with furkan though, but I think he will play a significant role on the sixers if and when he comes over.

I also couldn’t understand why he dropped so far. I had him mocked in the lottery if I remember correctly. Very raw when he came out, but had all the tools. Athletically right up there with the best but needed to work on what you mentioned – shooting and playing under control. Was there a better situation for him to be drafted to? Able to be coached by Pop and mentored by one of the best veteran PGs in Tony Parker? I don’t think so. He’s a special talent and I hope he’s able to continue his progress.

I am not a Spurs fan, but I like when they take young projects like Murray. The whole organization just seems to know how to develop players.

It’s nice to see a young prospect be put into a good position to learn and grow. Too many times these potential picks get put into one of two situation: 1. Play him/ feed him to the wolves or 2. bench him/ he’s not ready.

Yeah I think mocking him at #14 to the Bulls was a pretty popular move, who knows why he dropped so far? Might just be Spurs magic because he seems to be one of the next guys to help the transition from one era to the next. He might just be the Tony Parker to Kawhi’s Tim Duncan and I really hope he is because a league in which the Spurs aren’t one of the best teams is a league I don’t want to be a part of

Leonard and Murray would be a defensive nightmare. That’s a whole lot of length and athleticism on the perimeter.

Spurs are about the most astute drafters in the NBA considering they are often picking in late first round, they seem to have a great knack for unearthing talent. It could be as simple as they have rated all the players who they think have any chance of falling to them and just take BPA.

The Spurs always seem to draft well, as has been said, at the end of the first and into the second round. One characteristic stands out in every player they touch. Character. All players they draft seem to have high level work ethic and the drive to improve. No complaining about minutes, no complaining about shot attempts or touches. And they ALL improve from year to year early in their careers. Maybe there really is something to drafting high-character guys with few personal red-flags rather than reaching for a potential home-run with questionable signs…

Good point by Chrispy, I’d agree that the Spurs certainly go for high character guys. Also a guy lower down the draft will probably know they have to work harder to succeed and going onto a successful team – top coach, front office, very good locker room will always have a positive effect on a player even if they aren’t playing regularly.
