festar35ParticipantThe Utah Jazz have Paul Millsap, Al Jefferson and Derrick Favors next season. There is also the potential for them to pick Enes Kanter with the 3rd to get a legit center. I still view Al Jefferson as a PF in the NBA. Will the Jazz move one of them and who is most likely?

SealioParticipantI think Favors is the most tradeable because he has the most "potential" but he is definately off limits for the Jazz. I think it’s a toss up for Millsap and Jefferson… you would think that Millsap would be the odd man out if the Jazz pick Kanter or Williams.
If the Kanter slips to the Jazz he would pair very well with both Jefferson and Favors…. They did experiment with Millsap at the 3 spot later in the year so the could always have a 4 man rotation of Millsap-Jefferson-Favors-Kanter (Williams)
I don’t think they have to trade anybody but they do need a SG and if they can’t address that in the draft maybe they can package someone and get a decent SG.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantI’m kind of interested where all this talk about the Jazz loving Brandon Knight has come from. I don’t think they should go after Derrick Williams. if I’m the Jazz, go after Kanter and hope Burks falls to 12, not saying that taking Knight is such a bad thing but I would like to know where this knowledge of the Jazz loving him is coming from, "sources" i guess?

chevilicousParticipantThe jazz dont need a big, and a 6’10 center isnt my idea of a "legit center" they are solid in the frontcourt with 5 players under contract at the 4 and 5 position and they still have ante tomic who is 7’1 who is going to come over this year or next. Brandon Knight has sick potential, and will add a much needed shooter to the roster.

WinterSoldierParticipantthere is no source it’s just some media talking out of there asses. Brandon Knight will probably be a Jason Terry type player not something you take with the 3rd pick.

B-ball fanParticipantSo Kendrick Perkins, Ben Wallace and Emeka Okafor are not "legit centers" and if Dwight Howard was a half inch shorter, he wouldn’t be a legitimate center? I don’t think you can judge players solely by their height, especially when their height is close to average for the tallest position on the floor.
On the other hand, I agree with you that the Jazz don’t need a big. If I were the Jazz, I would consider drafting Vesely, who could replace Andrei Kirilenko. I am not high on Knight, who I think lacks pg skills (ability to control tempo, court vision, ball handling, decision making) and doesn’t have great physical tools to make up for that.

chevilicousParticipantso your argument is you would rather have emeka okafor or kendrick perkins than al jefferson? What you idiots dont understand is that they have 5 guys under contract already down low, and they won’t find anybody in this draft who can play the center position better than jefferson, even if he isn’t a true center. They only have so many minutes they can spread out to the 4 and 5 position, and they already have one of the best front courts in the league, and favors needs a wealth of a playing time next season to reach his potential.

Memphis MadnessParticipantJason Terry had 24 points in game 1 of the western conference finals. He is one of the top 6th men in the league. A guy like that might be worth a top 3 or 4 pick in this draft.
… not sure how Brandon Knight is different from Kyrie Irving. Knight is a better shooter and his team went farther in the tournament. Brandon Knight started at point guard on a Final Four team and hit two game winners in the tournament which is pretty good.
Yeah, this might be a reach, but if the Jazz need a long-term option at point guard then Brandon Knight is a good choice. Then at 12 they can go after a wing player or another front court guy.
SLCJazz 82, which players do you like at 3? You know the team more than most here. I saw them play once this season at Memphis. I think the need a floor leader and a shooter. They have enough big men.

WinterSoldierParticipantI believe the three best players with the best chance of being All-Stars are Williams, Irving, and Kanter. Whichever one of them falls to us is who we should get.

TeamShowtimeLakersParticipantmaybe they should trade millsap because he has move of a movable contract than al jefferson…they should definitely keep favors cause he is very young and has a big upside….but besides that they should definitely draft a point guard or shooting guard with one of their picks…maybe brandon knight or alec burks..or kemba walker.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantThe jazz have 4 legit bigs on there team. Millsap Jefferson and Favors all play their best ball at the four. Minnesota didnt work out when they played Jefferson at the four and honestly when I watched this team Jefferson was there best scorer no doubt. But did work well in the offense. I often wonder if he was in fact part of the reason dwill got so frustrated. So there is a log jam at the 4 in terms of the future. Al and Favors can both play ball at the five but neither really are long term 5 options imo. Now I am a huuge brandon knight fan as well so when the jazz got the 3rd pick I was pumped we locked him up. But then I looked at him as a prospect and wondered if it was a smart choice. I dont think He is as fast as some think and think colleges speed limited him a bit. His shooting would be welcomed with open arms. But he to along with Harris and Jefferson are not your typical jazz players in the sense that they look for their shots alot. Not saying it is bad its just true. Knight is the type of pg that has a ton of potential based on his skills and could be a all star.
But remember that we have two draft picks next year to. Also think about center prospects that could fill a hole that could be revealed next year that is a need for the jazz. There arent any centers next year….. None. This site has the brazilian twig as its ffirst center off the board at 19. That isnt going to help. Also with those two picks next year if we take back court players this year, are they going to be better than the players avaliable next year. Is kabongo or marshall as true pass first pgs a better fit than knight. I think yes. Which gets me to my point. Kanter and a solid wing who can compete with hayward at the three like a, along with Marshall and Lamb from 2012 sounds alot better than Knight, Thompson, Gilchrist, and beal. In the sense that that creates a log jam not only at the 4 but also the 2 and 3. In the end I trust the jazz orginazation to make the best choice and will always be a knight fan. But if it was my call the jazz would take the best center avaliable.

scoutguruParticipantWhat about the Ante Tomic guy from over in Europe. What are the Jazz plans for him? Is he coming over next year? I remember a lot of Jazz fans and some others speaking highly of him and anticipating him coming over and helping out the frontline last year. Some insight into his game too please? if anyone has seen him play..

butidonthavemoneyTomic is still quite thin. Athleticism and mobility would not be considered strengths for him. Knows how to play in the post. Great footwork. Soft touch. Good mid-range shooting ability. Good passer. Poor rebounder for a 7’2" player. Competes on defense, but is foul-prone. I’ve only seen him play 3 or 4 times, and he’s never really impressed me. The Pau Gasol comparisons are a bit much, but he could be a solid center in the NBA eventually.
He’s about to sign a four-year extension with Real Madrid. So I doubt he’s in Utah’s immediate plans.
