Mr. 19134ParticipantAnybody know why I’m hype for this date?
Josh Selby makes his Kansas debut. Kansas is already undefeated so how do you think this effects their season? I think it’s make them almost as dangerous as Duke. Tyshawn Taylor and Selby are perfect back court mates too.
I expect Selby to run wild in college. He is a better prospect to me then Avery Bradley and I can see Selby averaging around 15-17 points, a ton of highlights and might even surpass Knight as the 2nd best fresh PG.
I think Selby moves into the top ten tho he will have competition with obviously Irving who I think goes one, Knight, and Walker. Walker is a lottery pick.
Anybody else wanna hop on the Josh Selby bandwagon wit me? I don’t need gas money…

lalailaParticipanti would like to but i can’t..even knowing what Barnes or Jones are doing i still would say Selby is the most unexpectable player, who could be anywhere from Francis to Bradley..

Mr. 19134ParticipantYes but even Bradley didn’t put up terrible numbers they were great for a college freshman.
I think Selby got a lot of Francis in him and the defense I see in Selby for better or worse is that he’s selfish, he’s know how good he is and also how to get him. Basically he will find a way to get hype he’s that kind of personality. But I like his game and this makes Kansas so dangerous.

Mr. 19134ParticipantAt worse Selby reminds me of a Jerryd Bayless who will dominate college and underachieve in the pro’s but Selby plays tougher….And if Irving remains hurt too long Selby could come our nowhere as the best frosh PG in the nation.

lalailaParticipantyeahh Jerryd is a VERY nice comparison and he was huge is college..
with that being said Josh looks way more of combo than PG his court vision is probably better than Bradley’s but he still wants to shoot and wants to score like a sg, is it bad or not?..we will see
in the other way Francis were 5-6apg for most of his carrer but he played pretty well at PG position

Mr. 19134ParticipantHappy Birthday then if you’re watching Kansas on the 18th you’re in for a treat….
And Selby is a Maryland product like Durant, Melo, and Beasley.
Selby is tough as nails…And one of Bayless’s downsides was that he has a trex wingspan he;s 6’2 with like a 6’3 wingspan.
Selby looks a legit 6’2 and based on his the extension he gets on dunks he has to have around a 6’7 wingspan.
But Selby also got a complete game on offense and will either hit dagger 3’s or beat you with his first step and speed getting into the lane. In that aspect he reminds me a little of Baron Davis without the passing ability. Cuz Selby is still growing into his body but is already a well built guard. And got crazy hops.
I was a big Bayless fan but i also thought Bayless would have a better NBA 3 point shot then he has. Selby’s speed and aggressiveness playing for Kansas’ breakneck pace should put him, like Irving, in the running for NPOTY…
Guards like him always dominate college and Selby is as tough as they come.
Am I the only person who thinks that Selby is a better prospect then Knight?

JoeWolf1I don’t think he’ll put up more than 14-15 ppg and 4 or 5 assists in that system, but that doesn’t mean he won’t shine. KU has been running a 3 guard lineup and I’d expect him to jump in for Morningstar and be paired with Taylor, Reed, and the Morris twins.
I think Selby will showcase has talents well, and I expect many 20+ point games, but as much as Kansas feeds the post and runs the high low game post game, I’d seriously doubt Self would sacrifice team chemsitry of an undefeated team to let Selby run wild and drop a ton of points.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI think Selby will electrify and with the pace that Kansas play’s with I think Selby should’nt have too much trouble getting his and it adds a whole nother dimension to an already rock solid Kansas team.

Mr. 19134Participant21 points including the game winning 3 pointer to extend Kansas’ home winning streak to an absurd 65 games and it’s okay to say Selby’s debut was worth the wait. No doubt he is a top ten draft pick whenever he enters the draft. He is to scoring what Kyrie Irving represents about game management from the guard spot. With Irving out the rest of the year Selby becomes the best guard prospect in the nation and the rest of the season could be all about Kansas.
