The Scare Crow RisesParticipantI blame this on the gun culture in our country
Too many innocent people killed by hideous weapons of war, we should have evolved past all this by now…
He was only 20 years young with his whole life ahead if him, there is NO reason he should have been killed over an exchange of words over some petty beef…
We don’t care about one another anymore, this would’ve broken my heart had I not become numb to this type of News…
I wanted to celebrate this young man’s brother becoming a member of the NBA family, and with that he wouldn’t have to live the life so many of us have/had to live…
My thoughts are with De’andre and his mother, words will never bring their loved one back, I hope he can get past this devastating event and have a long and productive NBA career, I will always be pulling for a Saint Joe’s alumni “The 215 loves you De’andre, keep ya head up bro”

Anton123ParticipantIt does seem pretty crazy, I mean in basketball alone this year its Bryce Dejean Jones, DeAndre Bembry’s brother, Cleanthony Early was shot in the knee. I’m from Russia and we’re considered a super dangerous country… I can’t remember a single time in the past 10 years when an athlete or non-political celebrity was shot here.

UncledrewParticipantWhat’s really crazy is I just met his brother who got killed like 3 weeks ago it’s such a small word but I met him through a good friend of mine who knew him personally…we just chilled in his off campus apartment and now 3 weeks later shot trying to break up a fight at a party. Just a sad story you got to feel bad for him and his family

XYRYXParticipantman that’s really sad to hear another young person being shot for basically nothing.
After what happend in Orlando over the weekend the US really needs to do something about this whole weapon thing. Ironically I just saw a ducumentation about Columbine and Littleton on Friday and how Clinton and Obama tried to make changes but as long as many of the US citizens claim their right about carrying guns as well as the NRA being the most influential lobby in the states, it will be tough to make things work.
Condolences to his family and hope DeAndre will get through this to live his dream of becoming a pro basketball player. So sad
