HitsterParticipantThere is suddenly talk that De’Aaron Fox might be on the market as he will be a FA in 2026 and the Kings are worried about losing him for nothing.
Fox was an All Star and All NBA 3rd team last season and has averaged over 25ppg in 4 of the last 5 seasons including the current one. So he would be a highly sought after player as he has only just turned 27 and if he is traded then the receiving team would likely have his peak years.
The Spurs have been mentioned and they have enough assets but would Castle be off limits and might the Spurs want to keep CP3? – The lure of playing with Wemby would likely attract Fox too.
Brooklyn have got draft assets and expiring deals so could be a possible suitor too.
Utah have a load of picks but might not be an ideal landing spot in Fox’s mind and they want to rebuild via the draft. Other teams have draft capital but don’t have a Wemby to give Fox a clear winning window and wouldn’t want to risk trading a shot at Flagg and co this summer if the Kings wanted their 2026 pick as any part of a deal.
Contending teams will look at Fox but they would have to get creative and a lot already have star players in place in Fox’s position.

NorrinRaddParticipantThey might have an eye on another guard, perhaps in the draft??? Or maybe the team is pressing the reset button… This could be an interesting trade season.
