redone1ParticipantThe high school class of 2016 is shaping up to be one of the best classes in memory. Guys that could easily be lottery picks: Giles, Tatum, Josh Jackson, Dennis Smith Jr, Malik Monk, Kobi Simmons, Miles Bridges, Jonathan Isacc, Edrice Adebayo
But to me the player who will end up the best of them all is……DeAaron Fox
Fox is a long point guard in the mold of John Wall. He has excellent althetisicm and is becoming a very solid long range shooter off the bounce. He has already shown good vision as a lead guard and to top it all off scouts continue to praise him for his motor and defensive ability.
He is my choice to become the #1 pick even in this stacked class.

duke2001tyParticipanteverybody is seriously trying to outsmart themselves. Giles & Jackson is clear #1 & 2 by far. Fox can’t shoot the 3 worth $hit. Btw who else saw that Jerry Meyer at 247sports has Tatum at #14 overall in the 2016 class? Wtf is he smoking? remember this is the guy who had Selby #1 overall over Barnes and Kyrie. way too much emphasis on athleticism. He also has Giles at #4 overal lmao what a clown

ChicagoCaseyParticipantI won’t say by far due to the fact that that actually have to play a college game .
Fox actually improved as a shooter, so I won’t say he can’t shoot for $hit.
De’Aaron Fox been having an outstanding summer with the Houston Hoops and he have an amazing physical profil and athletic profile. He been playing like he’s the best point guard in this class and it wouldn’t shock me if he ended up number one if he haave a great season in college.
I would still go with Josh Jackson, Harry Giles, and Jayson Tatum as my top 3 picks for now, but nothing set in stone.
And sometimes people get stuff wrong. Josh Selby was the number one player in the Rivals (Yahoo!) rankings. Karl-Anthony Towns was number 9 in the ESPN rankings behind Cliff Alexander. Nobody can predict the future.

SkalAndJamalParticipantI predicted the future pretty accurately actually lol. KAT was my number 1 pick of his draft since 2013 hoop summit.
Anyways Fox is a taller Marcus Lovett, should be first rounder but he ain’t better than Dennis. Dennis would have been the best PG last year in college since D’Angelo was playing the 2. If you ever get a chance to meet a NBA player who knows something about high school ball, they all know Dennis is up next.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantSo you can predict the future? Who’s going to win the Super Bowl this year and who going to win the next 5 NBA finals? LOL.
You must never watch neither Marcus Lovett or De’Aaron Fox because the only thing they got in common is that they play basketball and they look alike. LOL
And if basketball players know who’s "next" than why the greatest basketball player of all time always pick bust and LeBron James have a key eye for who’s "nest" by saying "Shabazz Napier is the best guard in the class".
And FYI, when both played against each other at the Nike Eybl (nikeeyb.com) De’Aaron Fox did out play him and he got the victory. I watched the game and I was impressed of how great he was. If you want the stats here it go…. De’Aaron Fox – 19 points 7-13 from the field 2-4 on 3-pointers grabed 6 rebounds and dished out 7 assist. Dennis Smith – 15 points 7-17 from the field zero threes grabed 6 rebounds and dished out 4 assist. That’s pretty good if De’Aaron Fox is just a taller Marcus Lovett. And im not saying he’s not better than Smith, but it’s not far fetched saying that Fox is better than Dennis Smith.

SkalAndJamalParticipant1. I did predict the future accurately on selby, cliff, and KAT, dont know why you thought that meant I can somehow know the name of your future kids.
2. Oh yeah you’re right they aren’t both lefty ball-handlers, who love the step-back 3, and look for the flashy pass all the damn time. what De’Aaron can do that Marcus can’t? and don’t say dunking or rebounding, because that’s something that limits Marcus of his height.
3. That’s one guy. I said any player who knows high school ball.
4. It is though, Dennis has been dominating camps and circuits just cause De’Aaron got the upper hand one time doesn’t mean jack. In high school I had 24 points against former McDonald’s all-american Jabari bird compared to the 12 he got and my team got the win, that doesn’t mean im better than Jabari cause I got him 1 out of 1000 games it would have likely taken. Hopefully they matchup again tho. Marcus can play him, but him being 5’11 limits him though, I didn’t this was breaking news lol

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI don’t buy into the Kobi Simmons hype. Dennis Smith Jr. does literally everything better. Better athlete, better shooter, better defender, better passer. Don’t see him ever being a loterry pick, he is just an athlete at this point, and from what I’ve read and heard he isn’t a particularly hard working kid.
As for DeAaron Fox, I’d insert my above statements about Dennis Smith Jr. Dennis does everything better. This kid is Steve Francis with a head on his shoulders and the athleticism turned up a notch. Wouldn’t touch another point guard ahead of him.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantDe’Aaron Fox is recognized by many scouts and recruiting experts of being the best defender in the class

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI think its a lot closer then a lot of people think. I recognize that De’Aaron Fox is a very good defender and highly regarded on that end of the floor, and I think he has a more consistent motor on that side than Smith- but I think when Smith gets the fire lit under him he D’s up better than anyone in the country at his position. But you raise a good point, I probably went a big overboard.

ncballerDe’Aaron Fox has certainly been the talk of vegas this week. His defense and ability to get out in transition have caused a lot of havoc. He should expect a rise in rankings when the new ones come out. As noted as a PG he is a bit raw but seems to be improving in areas previously of concern in terms of shooting and running a team in the halfcourt. His movements, athletic ability and mindset remind me of Patrick Beverly, but I think Fox has more upside.
Another name that seems to go unmentioned (and I think he is the second best PG in this class to DS) is Frank Jackson out of Utah. This kid is on fire right now this summer. He may be going on his LDS mission upon graduating, but he has been nothing close to unstoppable this summer. He too needs to learn to run a team a bit better, but in terms of immediate impact in college if he does not go on his mission right away he can have a huge one for any team he chooses.

wonzi_bellsParticipantMe and you are on the same page when it comes to Jackson. Point guards who can shoot are always going to be my favorite since it benefits creating a shot from anywhere when you have the ball in your hand so much. And Jackson is an elite shooter, along with his athleticism. Those first two words in this second sentence is key though, "point guard."
I, for one, think he’s good enough to be a reliant playmaker at the point guard spot to excel with his team. Always will be a scoring point guard though, in the role of a Damian Lillard type. But Jackson has a good size a 6’3 with a nice frame, good speed and athleticism with change of pace and direction and is a crafty finisher with both hands. Always produces scoring at all three levels and can score out of the pick-and-roll, can even post up point guards to score too.
Overall, a ridicious point guard class, whether at the college or NBA level.

HoustonKid2013ParticipantJosh Jackson is actually a year older for his class, therefore I would put Giles #1 as of today.
