I’m just chilling, lockout NBA, when I come across the David Khan BS Report. I come to a conclusion on this man, he actually knows the game. Yes, we attack the moves, but when he talks, I can actually understand some of the moves and idea of his. Even the passing of Stephen Curry in 2009 was understandable when he explained it. After hearing this, I kinda went back and looked at some of his moves…hear me out:

    • 4 years/ 20 million for Darko. The same offseason where Drew Gooden got 32 million.
    • 4th overall pick on Wes Johnson. Many feel Cousins can be a headcase
    • 6th pick on Flynn….need assests. Flipped this to a 2013 1st.
    • Michael Beasley for 2 2nd round picks
    • Al Jefferson for 2 1st round picks
    • Got Anthony Randolph for nothing
    • Solid bench FA’s (Ridnour, Randolph, Tolliver, Webster)

The thing is this: Is Ricky Rubio the next guy? If Rubio fits, you throw him with Wes Johnson, Derrick Williams, Micheal Beasley, Kevin Love, Anthony Randolph….I think you might have something down the line. You build with these guys, i think he might be able to win 30 games next season, and that could save his job.

This bring me another question: What’s minnesota looking like down the line? I truly think they are a solid player away from at least contending for the that 8th seed. Once you get there, I think they could even be a little better like Memphis. The biggest thing is: Do you flip that Kevin Love chip? Right now, Kevin Love is probably a little overvalued. Can you flip him for a solid wing and a post? I don’t know.

Thoughts on Minnesota down the line?

Wow, that was amazing. I bet you can make Charlie Sheen look like a genius.

But yes, I agree he did an amazing job getting all this raw talent and assets together. Now can he get them mesh together? That remains to be seen.

they either got to gel as a team and get better, like the thunder did

or make a splash with the assets.

I think we’ve got a solid team, really athletic players on the wings, guys who can post you or stretch the floor, and a throw back pg. All we need now is a head strong and patient coach that can get them to D up and the wolves will have a very quick rise.

Imo T’wolves need to buy out Telfairs 2.7mil contract or trade for 2nd round draft pick. We have R.Rubio, L.Ridnour, M.Lee. I’m sure Telfair will not have any playing time after the lockout is over with our team. So what would a team give up for him? if anything at all??. Imo Kahn has been doing good, always seen him doing and saying the right thing.

@DontBiteME…Telfair is a free agent. He is out and not in any plans…

Now, I agree Kahn has amassed a ton of raw talent for the Wolves. And they are definitely better off than they were 2-3 years ago when McHale was running things. The problem I have, the guy is too obsessed with point guards and forwards.

The lineup mentioned was Rubio (pg), Wes J (sf), Beasley (f), KLove (pf), Randolph (pf), with DWill (f) as 6th man. That is a lot of talent, and could win a fair amount of games. Will they ever compete for anything besides an 8th seed with that? I doubt it. That is a PG and 4 forwards as a starting lineup with another forward as 6th man. How will that translate into success?

Yes, I see them being highly successful on offense, but will they ever win a slow down half court game when defense is what really matters? Hell no! Who will guard the (few) elite wings, like Melo, DWade, LeBron, or even old Kobe?… maybe Wes, but not B-Easy, or DWill… KLove is great, but can’t guard a damn big man straight up. And if anyone thinks Randolph can survive a single game at center, let alone 82… well, you just crazy. Dwight Howard, Bynum, (a healthy) Oden, (ditto) Bogut, (yes, healthy) Kaman, and a few others would destroy Randolph…and Darko (c) was serviceable, but not really that effective against any quality bigs.

The roster’s others include Ridnour (pg), Ellington (sg), Webster (f/g), L. Hayward (sf), Tolliver (f), Miller (c), Pekovic (c), and maybe Malcolm Lee (g). I see an improved group of players, but I don’t see a team, yet. This team is in desperate need of a legitimite SG and C. They could easily shed some forwards in favor of adding  some veteran talent at the 2 and 5.

I think they are just a move or two away from being a major player. I just hope Kahn makes the right decisions going forward. He’s gathered enough talent, now he needs to address the needs. But one bad deal could set that franchise back a few more years, so he better be careful.

ill give him beasley randolph and jefferson, but passing on cousins and steph curry probably outweighs those moves, especially since big al isnt even on the team anymore…

I’ll wait to see how he resolves the Beasley/Derrick Williams situation before I judge their future, because it isn’t fair to expect two number two picks who are almost identical to play together and reach their potential. Only room for one on that team.

One thing I wouldn’t mind happening is Williams/Beasley being flipped along with Wes Johnson to the Sixers for Evan Turner; he’d be a bonafide starter at the 2-guard and Philly would get a replacement for Thad Young if he walks and a scorer alongside Iggy.

But if you heard the B.S. Report, Khan said he thought Curry was more Randy Foye, then what he is now, which is fair to me. For Cousins, dude might be a serious headcase. We dont’ know.

Also, I would trade both Johnson and Beasley for Turner.
