BouncyBallParticipantFront page of nba.com he has is educated guesses about the 2012 nba draft. http://www.nba.com/2012/news/features/david_aldridge/06/04/morning-tip-who-might-go-where/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt1
First few picks are as expected… untill he starts to go crazy around 5.
Lillard to Sacramento when they have tyreke and jimmer/only feel ok about T-Rob?
Portland considering Tyler Zeller at 6?
Moe Harkless as early as 7?
Jared Sullinger as the "safe pick" for Toronto when PF is their only filled position?
I thought this guy was supposed to be a nba draft expert, how does he manage to work for nba.com and get on the front page

Knicksboy42ParticipantHe’s projecting Sullinger to Toronto because Bargs isn’t that good, and they will look to trade him.

B-ball fanParticipantToronto also has Ed Davis, Amir Johnson and likely Jonas Valanciunas next year. Their biggest weakness is at the wing positions, where DeRozan is probably their only long term rotation piece, and even he isn’t a star. They really need to add wing talent.

Knicksboy42ParticipantEd Davis is not a starting power forward, Amir Johnson isn’t either. Jonas is a center. He’s 6-11. I don’t agree with the Sullinger pick, but I understand it. Bargnani is terrible man. He can score the basketball, but he plays ZERO defense, and can’t rebound. I’d rather move Bargs and draft Sullinger, then even think Bargs is the guy at PF moving forward.

Wejustwin504ParticipantEd Davis’ production is pretty good when you measure it out to starter minutes.

TRC1991Participantvalanciunas and bargnani make a perfect combo. jonas loves to block shots and bang in the paint while bargs is more of a shooter… that sullinger pick for Toronto is GARBAGE. they badly and i mean badly (i cant emphasize this enough) need some wing scoring/shooting/talent

sheltwon3ParticipantI think right now they are probably going off of what they hear. It will probably be a while before they have a legit mock.

NCarmean18Participant"Jonas is a center. He’s 6-11."
What does him being 6’11" matter? Now, I know Jonas is obviously a center and I’m not arguing that at all, but you make it seem like he HAS to be a center just because he is 6’11". Remember, there are some pretty tall players who aren’t centers. Barg and Nowitzki are both 7-footers, and neither one of them are centers. Just something to think about, height isn’t always the indicator in every circumstance.
As far as the Raptors drafting Jared Sullinger, that would be the biggest mistake of the draft. Or at least one of them. Ed Davis and Amir Johnson are both good bigs coming in off of the bench, and Barg and Valanciunas compliment each other very well, as TC mentioned above. ^
Barg is not terrible, not by a long shot. He can sure as hell score the ball, posting up undeniable scoring numbers on a struggling Toronto team. Barg can easily drop 20+ PPG and will play better alongside Valanciunas as a PF then he did whenever he was a center.
Toronto desperately needs a wing. Considering DeRozen’s size and athleticism, they would probably be better off drafting a shooting guard and moving DeRozen to the 3 spot in the rotation. The Raptors need shooters, and this draft is full of them. They could take someone like Jeremy Lamb, Austin Rivers, or Terrence Ross with that pick.
In another direction, they could go out and get the point guard of the future in Damian Lillard, a guy who can really score the basketball, and move Jerryd Bayless to the 2 guard to help out with their perimeter shooting for this season.
Toronto is in a very unique spot, and I wouldn’t be completely surprised to see them as active trade-seekers come draft night. Jose Calderon seems like a good candidate to be traded on Draft night. Toronto isn’t quite there yet, but with a starting lineup of:
Calderon – Lamb/Rivers – DeRozen – Barg – Valanciunas
They would definitely be well on there way to contending for that eighth seed in the weak Eastern conference.

PulseGlazerParticipantThis is the most loaded wing player draft in ages – if Toronto doesn’t take a wing, they’re insane. Between Lamb, Ross, Beal, Walters, Rivers, PJ3, T Jones, and Harkness, all of whom fit well- why take a big or reach for a 1 when they’re set at those spots? It’s not like they’re going to be a top 4 seed next year and have a crap pick.

theTKOshowParticipantI dont see why there is so much hate towards Bargnanis game all the time. The man is the only player who can create offense on Toronto for himself. he can score from anywhere on the court and was showing alot of effort on the glass and on d before going down last year with injuries. Putting jonas beside him finally gives them a legitimate centre that will bang in the post and protect the basket while letting bargnani play over.
And although height is the most important thing, it is great to see a 7"0, 240 lbs play player centre instead of having ed davis (6"10, 220) and amir johnson (6"8 210) try to hold down the position.

TyroberParticipantI have been thinking Lillard was a good fit for the Kings the whole time. I even have it that way in my mock. Evans is probably going to be on the move to fill another need.

nick5354ParticipantI have no idea. It is just horrible. I saw one of NBA.com mocks and he has drummond at no.10 and Ross at 25.
