I think this is a good move for the Pacers. I’ve been very disappointed with Darren Collison all season, even when he was healthy.
Starting George Hill was something I thought should’ve happened at the beginning of the season. He’s not going to provide many more assists than Collison, but I think he’s a better shooter and defender. He’s ready for the starting spot.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Pacers attempted to move Collison this summer.

festar35ParticipantHill will give the Pacers a bit more in every category statistically as well as being able to effectively play defence against bigger PG’s. Collison has been very disappointing and honestly think he will be moved and the Pacers pick up a young PG in the draft to use as a back-up to Hill.
Hill by the way is increasing how much he will get paid this Summer with his play lately.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHill has 21 points on 8-12 FG (3-4 3PT), 5 rebounds, 7 assists and only 1 turnover in a VERY tough/physical game versus Milwaukee tonight. He’s outplayed Jennings.

I May Be WrongParticipantCollison has been a huge disappointment IMO. When the Pacers made that 4 team trade and acquired him, I thought he was going to explode as a starter. What was he averaging as a rookie for the Hornets – like 19 and 9 when cp3 was out. His numbers aren’t awful but I really thought he would show some great strides ala Ty Lawson, Kyle Lowery, etc, who are all solid PGs who kept on improving.
Hill is a tough defender, great shot, and could hold his own against the PGs in the league. As long as George Hill stays healthy, I think this will be a great move moving forward

IndianaBasketballParticipantMan… Hill is playing great tonight. He’s making all of the right passes.
You watching the Rockets vs Hornets? EJ going to work. Really hurting Courtney Lee…

sheltwon3ParticipantHill is the answer. I thought he was starter material. Collison is good but it picked the wrong year to start playing subpar.
Indy would be wise to move him before his value drops because he is still too talented that if he is moved, he should help most any team he goes to.

mcbaileyParticipantAs long as Collison still gets at least 20 minutes a night, assuming he’s healthy, I don’t care who starts. Hill is great and it was a great idea to trade for him, but Collison’s speed adds a dimension to their offense that they don’t otherwise have.

Malik-UniversalParticipantwhat happened to darren collison’s promise?

raybeasParticipantCollison was a very good back-up point guard. The 19 and 8 he averaged as a starter his rookie year was a best-case scenario, with a NO team that went deep the year before. He hasn’t lived up to that, to say the least, since the Pacers traded for him. I expect him to average around 8 and 4 with the Pacers second team.

iguapops420ParticipantCollison was a system PG in NOH with an offense that was very pg friendly. He’s got terrific fundamentals, his quicks are terrific and he’s not an awful shooter. Personally, I just don’t think that Indiana is the best place for his style of play. Especially with how much everyone else gets to control the ball. I wouldn’t honestly mind seeing NYK go after him using one of Fields,Shumpert, or Lin(S&T). PHX or wherever D’Antoni lands are other possibly good fits.
