QHaynes20He’s not that good. He maybe young but he brings nothing to the table….
most teams keep at least 2 or 3 PG’s
1st PG- Passer or scorer
2nd Pg- Game Manager/ veteran
3rd PG- Veteran

thetruthParticipantyou havent seem he play pn the high school level or at memphis
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 1:00pm #214586

JNixonParticipantI thought Washington was a good player in college and definitely in HS, but he isnt a true PG and he isnt quite good enough as a scorer to play in the NBA. He plays a little too selfish to play in the NBA..
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 1:07pm #214588

thetruthParticipantbut i think he could be a good backup somewhere

QHaynes20I saw him play. He is not that good.
More people would seem to agree with me because he has not latch on a NBA team since he was in SA.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 1:18pm #214599

JNixonParticipantYea, he isnt quite on that level. He has talent, but there’s something missing with him. If he was truly good enough he would be on someone’s team.

Bryant24ParticipantYall must be talking about a different darrius washington cause the one i seen dominated sebastian telfair in a high school game and gave rondo bukets he was a great scorer a good passer not great had good athletcism and a great three point shooter he shouldvd came out with sebastian telfair casue he was a better prospect and telfair was a lottery pick he came out too late and he had a mediocre season he came out he would be a great backup guard
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 2:09pm #214615

JNixonParticipantHe DIDNT dominate Telfair at all that game, Telfair won the game and showed much better skills. He outplayed Washington and he was playing on a slightly sprained ankle..and if he isnt better than Telfair now after how many years, he was never better. Washington wouldve been drafted in the 1st round if he declared in 2004, but he wouldve had a worse career. At least Bassy is a true PG..

Bryant24ParticipantDarrius washington was giving sebastian telfair buckets he ahd more assists points and rebounds telfair just had the better team he wiulnt be a great point guard in the league but he could be as olid backup at best an athletic rafer alston

JNixonParticipantRafer Alston is a true PG…Washington isnt an NBA PG..
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:16pm #214646

Bryant24ParticipantBut most of alston carrer he has been a backup point guard when he first came to the leaague he was known fir his street handles and passes but every offseason he worked on his game to get better he never had a deadly jumper until he came to miami and jeff van gundy made him work on his jumper he didnt start until he went to houston basically what im saying is if you wirk on your game u can get good and washington have some good skills i think he would be a solid backup and he can work on his point guard skills

JNixonParticipantI dont see Washington being an NBA PG, I’m sorry. He isn’t a PG 1st off..that would help. 2nd, he isnt a good enough shooter, 3rd of all he has no outstanding trait. He’s not a scorer, he’s not a playmaker, he’s not a defender. I dont see how he could make a roster…if he hasnt made 1 by now it may be time to move on. Especialy in a league where more and more PG’s are coming in.

Bryant24Participantu have point but he is athletic and he can shoot he dosent hold lockdown d but he did average 16ppg his sophmore year at memphis he can score thats one thing he can do
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:28pm #214656

JNixonParticipantHe’s a very mediocre athlete and scorer, he isnt anything special at all for the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:37pm #214659

Bryant24ParticipantNow he can jump his butt off he a good leaper now u right a bout everything else but he could score too can u do 360 alleys u just dont like him did u ever watch any if his games
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:38pm #214660
MH2ParticipantHe was very good in high school yes. Not a true PG more of a scorer and very small. Probably should have put his name in the draft the same year as Telfair since he played well against him that year and people were so high on Telfair.

quincey hodgeshes a prettyy good player but isnt nba material..im not sure if ya’ll remeber but the spurs signed him to a couple of 10day contracts and he got to play. he played in 18 games and averaged .8ast and .7 turnovers and 2.9 pts while shooting 43percentfg and 33 from three..some games he looked like a pretty good third string but most he looked lost out there and couldnt hit the open shot. just because a player out plays someone in hs or college doesnt make them the better player. christian lattner out played shaq in college but i bet you wouldnt take him over shaq bryant24. some players are great hs players but never quiet have the ability to stick in the pros. what makes telfair better is he was very good at setting people up and making them look better. darius was a very good scorer and didnt look to pass awhole lot which isnt what pros look for out of a 6’2 pg
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:45pm #214668

Bryant24ParticipantBut he can be a backup im not saying he going to come in and make an all star team but he can score given some minutes if anthony carter can gert some burn in denver o know washington can heck he’s a better player than eric snow and snow use to start for cleveland and snow defense wont good i know somebody goin say that
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:52pm #214673
quincey hodgesyeah but he didnt prove that he could be a back up..he got cut from the spurs in favor of there third string guard. right now hes just not nba material..while playing in europe he still looks to score first pass second. he gets a good 16pts a game but only gives you 3ast a game. thats not making other better and he only shots 30percent from a shorter three point line
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 3:53pm #214674
quincey hodgesi wouldnt even say hes a better player then snow because snow proved he could stick in the leauge for more then 10 years. darius has to prove he can stick in the nba for more then 18games
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 4:29pm #214695

JNixonParticipantAnthony Carter sucks, but he does defend and he sets up his teammates…Eric Snow did the same things and at a championship level. Washington has more talent than them, but it doesnt stand out at anything and he isnt a true PG. He’s a decent athlete but I dont consider Washington a great athlete at all for the NBA. 360 layups or not.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/21/2009 - 5:09pm #214725

thetruthParticipanti think washington is better than alot of backups and third string guards. and i think he could be be a good backup. but he has to be on the right team.

SupParticipantPeople wake up. It’s the same reason Lenny Cooke couldn’t make a roster, Omar Cook couldn’t make a roster. The NBA is not necassarily the best players in the world, more like a country club and if they blacklist you that’s it. They love to see cocky players crying in the green room, so they will not help those players get back to the top. They just won’t.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 09/22/2009 - 5:34am #214819
quincey hodgeslol..if that was the case alot of nba players wouldnt be in the leauge now..he isnt blacklisted and yes there are some players more talented then those in the nba but each team wants a specific player . a player that they need. if they have a team of scorers then they dont wanna pick up another scorer they wanna pick up someone that can help them in a area they arent good at. are there players that were better then bruce bowen yes but could they play d as well as him?. either no or when they were given a chance in the nba they didnt show that they could. dwashington has the talent to one day play in the nba but he needs to refine his game and realize that he needs to find a nitch by doing something that the team lacks. and become more of a passing point guard. the players you named didnt make it because they were blacklisted they didnt make it because they werent good enough. both had tryouts and got cut each time i think omar might have made it to a 10day contract or summer leauge though
