For the longest I was unhappy with what was available for the Wolves at 12.  I am now convinced that Saric is their guy, and not because the site says so.  He has perfect form on his jump shot, good post skills, amazing court vision leading to great passing, and he can put the ball on the floor.  From everything I have seen I believe he should play small forward.  What will determine that is whether or not he can move his feet on defense well enough, he seems quick enough.  With Kevin Love gone for sure, I’m curious to whether or not they can start Dieng at the 4.  A front court of Saric, Dieng, and Pek would be interesting.  Pek the low post scorer, Dieng the rebounder and rim protector, and Saric a creator and jump shooter.  Depending on what the haul in a trade the could have Dieng come off the bench but he needs to play big minutes.  Could Saric be a bust?  Sure he could, but at the 12 position I think you swing for the fence and hope you land a Dirk.

Honestly, I don’t think he’ll be available for Minnesota to take.

I don’t think he’s there at 13…. If I had to guess he goes somewhere 8 through 10, and I would be very surprised if he went any lower than 11, but stranger things have happened.

I’m high on Saric and who ever gets him will most likely be tickeled , his noncommital attitude about when he might come over has him going lower than he might but talent wise I agree with Chad Ford and think he is in the same teir as Vonleh, Gordon, Smart , Randle etc.

As the original poster said, there is great concern over his lack of athleticism. It isn’t under average, it’s way under average. More importantly, while his shot has good form, he still does not actually make his shots. That makes him a size able risk.

he may not have springs for legs, but he has great mobility and is far from flat footed forward. and i agree with you that his shot isnt his greatest strength but it still has improved from last year. over-all, its his natural feel for the game and basketball iq that makes him such a high prospect. he has very good court vision and is a willing passer. also, he makes good decisions on when to score and when to pass.

in a way, he’s kind of like a taller version of brandon roy. more craftyness than super human physical attributes. i honestly dont think he would develop like dirk did. i mean, im hoping and expecting his jumper to improve, but never at an elite level. but i think at the end of the day, his bread and butter would be his ball handling for his size as well as his playmaking abilities. more simillar to lamar odom or boris diaw.

I think the Sixers would take him at 10.  They were very high on him last year and Hinkie/Brown love that kind in international player, especially with their San Antonio backgrounds.

Saric is a real talent, he must have some Greek DNA in him somewhere
