Could this guy be any good at all? I just wonder because this guy maybe has played like 15 total minutes in his NBA career and he’s still on a roster… he averaged 3 points a game in college behind Cousins so i dont know why he even came out in the first place. I just want to hear peoples opinion in him because this dude has the best life of anybody.. he just travels to games, plays a couple d league games and gets paid to watch the Thunder play..

lol…I thought he showed a lot of potential at Kentucky…

He’s big, mobile, has pretty good post moves and touch…I think his attitude and work ethic are what hurt him..

Leaving after 1 year was a huge mistake for him…another year he probably could have been a lottery pick, went to a weaker team and would’ve been able to get himself in the rotation (drafted by the Magic when Gortat and Howard were both there)..

All in all I still think he can be pretty good, I think its up to him though…

Another guy that should’ve stayed in school, yeah he has potential but his game has no refinement

Orton played some minutes for Orlando last year when Howard went down, and seemed to show a lot of potential. He could’ve been much better had he stayed in school, but he is still rather young and could still develop into a good player.

He was always overhyped because he went to Kentucky. In my opinion Orton made the right decision to leave and get that NBA money when he did because had he come back and got the spotlight his sophomore year he would’ve been exposed. In reality Orton should be in his senior year backing up Noel.

Off topic, Daniel Orton looks like Russell Westbrook.

He’s actually pretty productive when he does get minutes, although they’re all in garbage time. I saw him have a couple buckets at the end of a game earlier this year, which is more than some garbage time players can say. I think he still has potential, but if he doesn’t start earning some game minutes it could be hard for him to get his next contract.

He did the right thing, he’s getting a check. He never had much of a ceiling.

Honestly I think the only reason he’s on the Thunder is because he’s from Oklahoma City, there aren’t many NBA players from Oklahoma, he’s a rare hometown kid. Yes he went to Kentucky but he was born and raised in OKC.
