Arc12345Participant"I ain’t make the all stars but I’m flu game sick, last time they count me out what do I game 6?" – the man himself
Seriously sizzling tonight against the Warriors. And we’ve seen them demolish everyone else in their path. How was this dude not an all star? This might be the biggest all star snub in history…its at least up there.
Lillard has 36 with 8:49 left in the 4th. They’re up 112-84 and it’s not like the Warriors took the night off. I can’t say Lillard has totally destroyed Steph, because Steph has 31. HOWEVER, Lillard has been giving him the business.
Where do you guys rank Lillard when compared to other PG’s? He’s definitely top 5 IMO. CLUTCH.
UPDATE: 40 with ZERO turnovers 7 assists, 6 steals. 6 minutes left. Don’t tell me that he’s not the real deal.

For_Never_EverParticipantHe is an offensive juggernaut, but he doesn’t make his teammates better. I don’t get why he is such a bad defender given his IQ, and physical athletic attributes. He is in the top five, but I see him as kinda a Gilbert Arenas type of player.

For_Never_EverParticipantI know he got like 7 assist in this game, but did he really create shots for them ? Gilbert Arenas won a lot of games himself also.

For_Never_EverParticipantI have a couple knocks against him. But he is a great offensive player, and if he actually became a more rounded player he would be in discussion being the top PG. I was the biggest advocate of his, and I believe the first user to bring him up on the site. So it’s not like im just being a hater or anything.

RedRiddlerParticipantActually yeah you are HATING, the guy has 7.3 Asts a game with a 2.2 Ast/TO ratio. Curry is god awful on D too, as is Kyrie so don’t give me that S#%@.

For_Never_EverParticipantYou don’t know basketball if you think Curry is bad at defense. You think he is bad because he isn’t athletic.

OhCanada-ParticipantDoesn’t make his teammates better? I can only name 3 gaurds that does a better or equal job making their teammates better Curry, Paul and Westbrook. Assists don’t translate into making your teammates better leading by example, and displaying courage does and Lilliard is the most courageous player in the NBA. Clutch!

For_Never_EverParticipantI’m not saying this is near the same case. However, James Harden was talked about in the same way, and being called the top best SG in league. Skipp Bayless even said he is the most clutch player in the NBA.

Hype MachineLillard makes his team and his team mates better. No one carries a team more than him this season. Hes doing what Anthony Davis cant.
Without him theyd be a moping, lotterybound mess. Hes got them playing with confidence and enthusiasm.
Great game…great season. Hope he makes an AllNBA team to make up for the All Star Snub.

RedRiddlerParticipantPreach, Lillard is a true leader the guy has been the voice of this locker room day 1. When everyone had them under 27 wins this year, he lead them to 28 Wins with 33 games left.
Davis is great, but the guy is like K Love puts up stats on a bad team going no where and everyone is marketing him like they use to for Love, desperately hoping he can make them a playoff team every year talking him up as top 5 player in the league when he hasn’t done a damn thing.

For_Never_EverParticipantI think it could be unfair to compare Anthony Davis Case to Lillard. Davis is the best offensive player and defensive player on his team. Even though at times he can get bullied on man to man defense. The team still channels the other team offense towards him. I could even make the case his team is just as bad or worst. Sometimes teams just hit the perfect storm like ATL last season and Boston this season. It’s a feel a good story, but I’ll be surprised if it last another season unless they get talented players coming in or high picks.

Arc12345ParticipantCould he be as high as second team? Anybody want to list out there All-NBA teams this year? Probably deserves another thread.
The guard spots are pretty position blind, so it’s possible he could be as high as second team but who knows.

circumlocution75Participant25 years old & under….. Lillard (25), McCollum (24) & Crabbe (23)…… give Portland a 3 headed monster…. This team is really positioned well for the Future….. Harkless (22) & Vonleh (20) are nice young pieces…..Aminu, Leonard & Plumlee are also 25 or under & nice players…..
If the Blazers can grab a real nice big man w/ athleticism who can score in transition & block shots – a guy who can share time w/ Plumlee at Center but give them a different look….. they could really grow into a dangerous team….. a Willie Cauley-Stein (22) or a Nerlens Noel (21)
