IknoBall12ParticipantIm jus wondering to myself when are the hawks ever going to draft a center? i mean its painfully obvious thats their biggest need on the team. i saw them get jordan crawford in the trade and thats probably to soften the blow for joe johnson leaving but still cmon are they seriously gonna keep drafting the same position forward every year? they just get more ridiculous every year in the draft i swear. Jeff teague was the only good pick theyve made in the last few years i must say. the al horford pick was good but again they drafted a forward and hes def playing out of position especially against the big centers in the league.

BlackMamba24ParticipantThere wasn’t a point to draft a center outside of Cousins because they werent going to come in and start. They drafted a forward then traded him for Crawford to help everybody out, not just cause of the potential loss of Joe Johnson. There is still FA and they can still make trades.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantUmm Josh Smith? Al Horford? Hmm, that’s 2 all-stars.. Idk if the Hawks will get a draft right.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantBrendan Haywood, I heard that’s who they are targeting.
Also, Atlanta has done well the past 2-3 seasons. I think right now, you have two nice trade pieces as well in Mike Bibby and Jamal Crawford.

ball4life66ParticipantI heard a rumor that they might trade Josh Childress for JaVale McGee.

Da1potParticipantWhy would the Wizards go for that trade?

blackflash234ParticipantThat’s exactly what I’m saying. Why would the Wizards do such a trade. McGee has so much potential and he’s starting to come into his own.

MBRHParticipantWiz wont make the trade McGee is just what they want for now, someone who has high upside and is cheep.

marcusfizer21ParticipantWhat do you expect from the Hawks? Other than the Al Horford and Josh Smith picks, they really weren’t much of a genius.. They got spoiled thinking Marvin Williams could be a star and drafted him at 2 when it was obvious that their glaring need was a PG… ehem… Chris Paul and Deron Williams were very much available there…
Then there was 2006… Wow… I would have forgiven them if they drafted Randy Foye but passing on Brandon Roy to take an undersized obvious role player in Shelden Williams was the worst in my mind… This year’s draft has been unimpressive for me… They took Damion James and traded him for Jordan Crawford who has a similar game to Jamal’s… They had the opportunity to acquire Hassan Whiteside but passed on him… They took an unknown raw player in Pape Sy wherein they should have looked for a guy that could face up against Dwight Howard— The guy that crushed them in this year’s playoffs..

borlackParticipantwith haywood the team would still have a good starting 5…
Bibby PG
Jamal Crawford SG
move Smith to SF
Horford PF
Haywood Cit seems like a decent starting 5 and u get teague, crawford and williams off the bench

JNixonParticipantMarcus Fizer said it best…..And for them to pass on Whiteside and try and acquire JaValle McGee is like admitting they should’ve picked Whiteside. I do think they passed on Whiteside because they want to win now, and he won’t contribute much in the next year or 2.

billykParticipantJosh Smith cant play heavy minutes at SF (he cant shoot and his handle is suspect).. Hes best in his more natural postion as a PF (to maximize his shotblocking abilities)…

IknoBall12Participanti got a problem with a few things: 1st up…
Mcdunkin: wat the hell are u talkin about? pape sy is a 6’7 forward. i def said center in the post read better.
Toungue out like 23: Josh smith hasnt made an all star team yet so wat are u talking about?
Borlack: the problem with your starting lineup is bibby cant guard anyone and u cant possibly put josh smith at the three becuz there really is no outside game watsoever with him.0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 12:15pm #342766

JNixonParticipantIf they acquire Haywood and move Horford to PF, Josh Smith should either be traded or moved to a bench role. And I’m not confident that Smith would like being a 6th man…
