XYRYXParticipantI now read it on multiple sites that D-Wade hopes he gets a deal done with the Heat but also said he hopes it will be smoother than last years negotiations. They reportedly had a tough time last year negotiating and it took some weeks to get it done…
Wade had a pretty decent season last year and played more games than the last 5 years but I also think he won’t take less then 20 Mio per year while being 34 now. Kind of a complicated situation for the Hear who have 40 mio cap space but also 8(!!) free agents and only early bird rights to Hassan which means they can only offer 4 years not 5 and more importantly can’t exceed the cap resigning him. JJ and Deng are also Free Agents and want to get paid for one more contract. Then there is the Bosh situation and nobody knows if he even can and will come back at all to continue his career let alone on a high note without heavy and uncertain restrictions.
While I don’t really believe Wade wants out of town, I think there is a real possibility of him exploring other options if the Heat don’t get him the contract he wants and I have no doubt that the Knicks for example would love to throw their cap space at him to form something big (but also heavily knee issueismic) in New York.
Is Wade leaving a real possibility for Wade and where could he go to chase one more ring and how about the Spurs in this case?

Reptilian MonkParticipantWade and Lebron are free agents so they must sign with the Knicks, trade Rose for Cp3 and you get the 4 amigos on a bananna boat trying to win one for the Big Apple

CDPHParticipantThat would mean Wade was signing for the MLE in this scenerio. Don’t see that happening.

nill650Participantat this point I’d rather see Smith return which is obvios he will as His defense was stellar in the playoffs and far underappreciated by the masses as too just how impactful it was, and how it really made the difference down the stretch. Wade will want too much , and the cavs don’t need him

kobyzParticipantI think it will be better for the heat to let him go and make room to Richardson and Winslow in the line up, let Winslow run the show on offense, Winslow keeps to impress me, his phisical and really savvy game for his age and with his sense to getting buckets inside the arc, just have high potential as a go to guy, of course also already high level defender, like i said last year before the draft next Clyde Drexler, what a steal for Miami!!! So it better for Miami to spend the money elsewhere, keeping Hassan plus finding some insures for Bosh…

Untouchable JParticipantJust thinking of best fits, I’d say Knicks would actually be #1. #2 would be cleveland.
Wade starts, JR STAYS and comes off the bench and plays plenty minutes at the 3.
#3 would be OKC. May sound crazy with Oladipo but Wde has 2 years as a starter left. Oladipo can be 6th man.

Memphis MadnessParticipantLeBron helped D Wade win 2 more titles in Miami.
I think it would be nice of Wade to return the favor for LeBron.
Knicks would make sense, too. But, might not be enough basketballs to go around with Rose, Wade, Melo, and KP.
Bad shooting backcourt of Wade and Rose, with both being score first guards basically.
To think of this another way:
What if Wade stays, Whiteside stays, and Durant goes to MIAMI?
Then you get a really good Final Four next year of Warriors-Spurs and Cavs-Heat.
Durant would be too much of a good fit in Miami.
Actually better than LeBron was, since Durant is a better shooter from 3 and mid-range, and even longer than LeBron.
Dragic, Wade, Durant, Bosh, and Whiteside would be a nice starting five. Depending on how well chemistry goes that could be a 65 win team next year even with Wade and Bosh on the downsides of their careers now. Durant can be the major go-to guy with Whiteside cleaning up the inside.
With that heavy hitting five man lineup I wouldn’t be surprised if Noah or Pau signed on cheap to come off the bench. They might also bring Mario Chalmers cheap, once he comes back from injury. Let’s put Noah back in the state of Florida.
If the Thunder lose Durant, then I try to go after some of that Golden State Warriors championship/near championship DNA. Sign Harrison Barnes to be your starting small forward and third option behind Russ and Dipo. Sign Festus Ezeli to be Steven Adam’s part time backup/part time tag team partner. Adams, Ezeli, Kanter, and Sabonis would give the Thunder something of everything inside. And, don’t forget about Mitch McGary. If they sign Barnes, he can play some small ball 4, too. Finally, I go after Delly to provide Russ with a legit backup point guard who can hustle, defend, and run the offense here and there. You can also go with a smaller Russ-Delly backcourt.
If I am the Knicks and I miss on Durant and a few of the other top options, I go after Dwight Howard. I also think about bringing Jeremy Lin back as a combo scoring guard next to D Rose. Or, use him as a 6th man/D Rose backup point guard.
Assuming LeBron resigns, tweaking his next contract, and offers his input to the FO, the ball will be in Kevin Durant’s court. He controls the board. So, whatever he does will determine how the rest of the stuff goes…
Cavs keep JR Smith. Andy V resigns with the Cavs making for an AWKWARD ring ceremony even though Andy V, Part Time Warrior/Full Time Clown might get his ring anyway. So, they don’t add much, but don’t lose much either. Cavs still the faves of the East with the Heat and Knicks closing in.
Possible Warriors competitive response? They lose Barnes and Ezeli and don’t cash in on the Kevin Durant Sweepstakes. They pick up Pau to give them an inside scorer and rebounder and a guy to replace Andy V’s whining and flailing. Nic Batum comes in to play small forward with some added length and added defense/playmaking over Harrison Barnes.
The Raps and Celtics move back to the middle of the pack in the East.
The Clips and Grizzlies reassume their middle of the pack dominance out west.
Grizzlies go more bad boys by adding D.J. Stephens’ cult-hero high-wire act. Conley and several oversized combo point guards along with Tony Allen assume backcourt duties in Memphis. Marc, Zach, the paper trail known as Brandan Wright, and a bunch of young kids round out the front court rotation. Memphis finally fully buys into the "if you can’t beat ’em, beat ’em up!" mantra.

BeastMode716Participant6+ years…….. Wade is a Hall of Famer but he’s never been held to the same standards as a Kobe or a Lebron or a Shaq b/c he just Not in the category.
The NBA Season + Playoffs are an absolute Physical & Mental Grind
& it’s a Grind for a reason —- b/c the League wants to seperate the Truly special Talents from the rest
& Wade just is not at that Level any longer.
