Taylor Gang MikeParticipantwowww… that is too bad for him, my sixers might have a chance but you hate to see this happen to such a good kid

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantI love D-Rose, he’s one of my favorite players. But, the Bulls just aren’t gonna win a title without him, regardless of how they did without him in the regular season.

FastAndFuriousParticipantI really feel bad for him if this is true, not that I would wish an ACL tear on anyone, but this guy is so humble, doesn’t talk smack and plays the game the right way, why did something like this have to happen to him, the basketball gods should have spared D.Rose one, he doesn’t deserve an injury like this.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 12:40pm #665045

Meditated StatesParticipantKid had too many injuries and he destroyed his body overcompensating on other body parts because of them. Thats it for Chicago after this series. Maybe not even get out this series, but I don’t have faith in Philly at all.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantso he is also out of the olympics as well right? Team USA is hurting. Good thing there are a lot of good point guards.

mikeyvthedonParticipantHorrible thing to happen, sorry to all Bulls and Derrick Rose fans. Really bummed he is going to miss the Olympics and was looking forward to seeing what he would do in the play-offs. He looked really good in Game 1 and I just anticipated he would get stronger as the play-off’s wore on. Awful thing to happen to a great player, really hope he bounces back next season after getting some much needed rest.

jeff416ParticipantThe Bulls might be able to still get to the semi finals, but I highly doubt they will be able to get past a team like Miami now. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Atlanta or Boston beat them in the second round though.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 12:48pm #665054

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantThe Sixers have no excuse to lose right???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 12:49pm #665057

FastAndFuriousParticipantBut you know this could really be a blessing in disguise, I know some guys who get ACL injuries and they come back faster, quicker and with a shiiiiittttetload more bounce(HOPS) than they ever had in their life.
If D.Rose got more athletic lol it would be a wrap for the league.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 1:06pm #665062

FastAndFuriousParticipant^^^ Ay you never know Kendrick Perry, a guard from Youngstown State(D1) had a 38 inch vertical he tore his ACL and now has a 44 inch vertical, it’s possible, you can always improve.
But that’s neither here nor there main thing is it’s f’d up he tore his ACL.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 1:06pm #665060
aamir543Participant^Yeah, those guys probably went from"good" to "great". D-Rose was already at "world class" level, I don’t see him coming back with more bounce.
This is absolutly terrible, you hate to see this happen, unfortunatly he’ll miss a good chunk of next season as well, I see the Bulls still having enough in them to have a run, but they’re not in as good shape as they are with Rose, I really hope he gets back healthy, what a shame that he’s gone from the playoffs.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantPlayoffs should’ve started next week not two days after the season. Gives more players to rest. I don’t know what Stern was thinking.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 1:22pm #665063

WizardofOzParticipantThe Sixers will still lose.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 1:40pm #665065
joecheck88ParticipantI’m not even thinking about this playoff series or playoffs. To me, this injury puts a damper on the whole playoffs and season. This makes 2 superstars going down with major injuries and surgeries. I think we can place some blame on this condensed season. It is sickening to think that greed may have contributed to this. Why bunch all those games into a short period of time? Let’s hope that Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose can come back 100% and not have these things plague them forever. This is just my opinion but to me, the players were over worked all season.

JordoParticipantSad day for Bulls fans. I was cheering for them but cut the game off after it was pretty much sealed, then i saw the reports. My friend was telling me he needs to stop wearing those addidas 9 oz shoes and he needed more stabilty on his feet but after I watched the replay a few times it was just a freak accident and he shouldn’t have been in the game. Get well D. Rose 🙁

marcusfizer21Participanthey guys.. this is marcusfizer’s mom… Just telling you that he won’t be able to talk to you for awhile.. He was comatized after learning about Derrick Rose’ ACL tear..

stepback3ParticipantJ.A. Adande RT @nyknicks: @I_Am_Iman has suffered a torn left ACL and lateral meniscus. He is expected to miss approx. 6-8 months after surgery

0 - Posted on: Sat, 04/28/2012 - 3:59pm #665127
benny15Participanti feel bad for rose too. and a little off topic, but this definetly makes it really bad for Adidas. look at their main endorsers. the two biggest got major injuries this season, Dwight and Derick. They’re main man in the past had a history of injury problems(T-Mac), as well as their next high profile endorser has had injury issues(Arenas). i really like adidas, but their just seems to be some curse with their main endorsers.
more related to the topic though, i feel very comfortable than Rose can come back from this. maybe not more explosive as mentioned earlier, but definitely able to play and still be a star in the league. if anything, i think this will get him to improve his in between game. he has always been a great slasher, then last season he added the 3 point shot to open up the lane for him to drive. now i think he’ll be adding the mid-range game so that he can pull up after a drible when defenders are expecting to go all the way.

Scott42444ParticipantThis sucks, man! I was looking forward to this Heat series this year more than any sporting event since the 2003 World Series!
Guess as a Chicago fan I shouldn’t count my chickens before they are hatched, huh?

Future_Scout’s boardi meant to say free ride to the FINALS for the heat. i don’t think boston is as big of a threat as CHI.
free ride to the FINALS!!!!!!!!!

NYK2010ParticipantBulls can still beat Philly who were awful and outside of getting to the line were terrible on offense most of the game.
No such thing as a free ride but they definitely have a better shot. Celtics are older and have injury problems with Ray Allen. Who knows if they get past Atlanta though since Josh Smith, Joe Johnson, Teague, and some decent role players should give the Celtics some trouble.
Also I don’t see anyone mentioning on here why Rose was in the game with a big lead. Considering all his other injuries seems like a poor coaching decision. Up 16 with 2:52 he could’ve taken Rose out you can’t tell me that a team like the Bulls that went 18-9 w/out Rose can’t hold off Philly. I know a torn ACL is a freak injury but what if he aggravated an ankle, toe, back or groin all that he already hurt this season.
Now maybe ppl will get why Spurs coach Poppovich rests his players, yeah they are older but why risk it. Also Parker who’s 29 rested the last 2 games even though home field wasn’t decided. Poppovich is no dummy he has 4 rings for a reason and knows when to rest his players. You saw Miami do the same thing Bosh and Lebron didn’t play in the 4th qtr and Wade played a few mins in the 4th. Teams aren’t stupid they will rest players, Kobe didn’t play in 8 of the teams last 10 games. Rest is more important and coaches esp. now after seeing season ending injuries will definitley rest players when the game is decided.

CynthiaParticipantThis really sucks =(
Bulls will still advance past the Sixers…but after that may be tough. If they can make it to the conference finals without him that will be an epic achievment!
I wish them luck!!!
