OhCanada-ParticipantA report by Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio stated the Lakers are interested in aqcuiring Hedo Turkoglu. The Lakers suually get what they want.
I believe BC would be all for a similar deal to the one I described but if Luke Waltons contract is included he will wait and/or try to shop Turkoglus contract elswhere.BC is very good when rebuilding a team, he just doesnt know how to put the finishing touch on a franchise.

LawDeeZeeParticipantwhat role does turkolug play on the lakers? … a point forward? don’t they already use odom for that?

mikeyvthedonParticipantBut why just give all of that to the Lakers? The Raps obviously need to make room for new acquisitions, and Turkoglu/Bellinelli do not seem to be in the plans, but would Vujacic and Brown fill a need? Also, wants like two 29/30th picks in the draft for a couple years? Just does not make sense for the Raptors, but if they want to get rid of Turkoglu and give the Lakers that much more of a chance to win the next few championships, than I guess it will happen. My skepticism with this trade does come with the fact that the Lakers would be taking on an enormous salary, so what would that mean as far as Odom staying on the team? I am fairly sure the Lakers are already significantly over the luxury tax, and while Ron Artest’s deal was reasonable, I know Kobe, Bynum, Gasol and Turkoglu would all be making 8 figures, and Odom would be close. Add in Artest, I am guessing Fisher and Steve Blake, they have to be the highest salaried team in the league by far (not to mention how much they pay Phil, which is worth every penny, but still a chunk of change). I know Dr. Buss has won 10 titles as an owner, and he has always kept the Lakers competitive with not being afraid of spending dough, but that is a lot of dough. The final thing is, do they need Turkoglu? Why not try and get some help in the front court, where they have very little depth. Sure, they would have Odom coming off the bench in perspective, but if Bynum goes down (has to be a concern), than they have nada. It has been a huge issue for them the last 3 years, and even if Derrick Caracter contributes (not impossible, but not probable), they still would probably like to find that shot blocker off the bench or that strong rebounder who can make a 15 footer. As a fan of both teams, I think they could do better things, but the Lakers would win by gambling on Turkoglu, and we know of Dr. Buss’ affinity to poker. They might have to pay out the @$$, but Turkoglu coming off the bench (?) would make them very tough, that is as long as they keep Lamar Odom as well, who is pretty much better than Turkoglu at everything. If acquiring Turk led to Odom’s departure (depending on what they would get, which I doubt would be too significant as it would more than likely be a salary dump), it would be a mistake.

FDAPOI agree with Canada on the sign and trade and Sasha….
Either Brown or Farmar. At least 7-8 million a year.

Brown would fill the backup SG spot that we move Bellinelli for.He adds to the exciting young highflying atghletic roster. He also helps sell tickets…
Vujacic is a shooter…for one season.
The Draft “Pick” as I think it should only be one “if we get lucky” is always a helpful addition.

Knicksfan1ParticipantI think Hedo would return to form with the Lakers cause his skill set fits the triangle perfectly. He would really help that 2nd unit cause the only consistent guy they have off the bench right now is Lamar. But don’t u think that LA shud try to get a point guard from Toronto maybe Calderon cause Fisher could be leaving for Miami?
