You’ve said Dwight Howard is over rated and everyone said he’s rated just fine… He took the King out and made it to the finals, not bad with a bunch of shooters huh?

Nuggets winning the Championship didn’t happen… They didn’t win 2 games at home…

I know this is kind of dumb but for someone to say he’s the greatest basketball mind ever needs to be humbled…

    So where’s our apology?

is just full of crazy opinions like a lot of us. He did appologize to me when he said Daye was a lock to go lottery and I disagreed. Also, I don’t think Dwight lokked very “superstar” like in the Finals. Gasol played him to a standstill and he turned the ball over like crazy. 11-and -10 with the season on the line was not very impressive.

Steven A Smith, Where’d he go? I loved him. Haha.
I think Dwight is overrated. Sorry. 🙂 I thought Nuggets might be able to top the Lakers until Carmelo stopped his rampage.
Just shooters? Rashard did more then shoot that series and the others as well and really caused problems for Cleveland. Hedo was just doing Hedo. Haha.

Howard did well considering his age and also that the Lakers built a defense just for him. He needs to get better as a player but he has to some point but I think the final took him to another level as far as awareness of what is not good at doing. if he can work on half his issues he will be alright next year.

call me crazy, but Dwight isn’t worth the hype he gets….

I understand that I’m a Cleveland fan and people are going to say “well it’s because they beat you”, well Dwight Howard wasn’t the reason we lost.

Orlando beat us because their Rashard Lewis, Turkoglu and every other player started lighting it up from the outside.

here me out, Dwight Howard has been in the league 5 years now. he came in 1 year after Lebron did, and all we hear about is how ex players and critics say “Lebron hasn’t improved enough”, we don’t hear a thing about Dwight Howard.

He’s been in the league 5 years, and still doesn’t have a consistent offensive move(I don’t consider throwing an illegal elbow that he gets away with because he’s a star a move). He can’t consistently score from a measly 5 feet away from the hoop. People always talk about how stars get away with things and they point out the Kobes, Lebrons and Wades who get away with extra steps at times and I’ve actually heard people say “when is Dwight Howard going to get star treatment”. it’s funny because every thing he does where he’s considered excellent at, is illegal.

he throws elbows to clear space offensively, anybody else does that and it’s a charge. on the glass, he shoves people to clear space, which isn’t a legal box out, and how many times have we seen him go over the back.

I’d wish for one person to say he’s not overhyped to tell me one thing that he excels at that is actually legal in basketball(i.e. if he weren’t a star, he wouldn’t get away with it)

      howard won a game?

the team had to shoot like 60+% to win a game by less than 10 points…..

Sorry but Superman was Clark Kent in the finals, if it weren’t for Rashard and Hedo, the Magic would’ve been swept

kobe doesn’t do it on every offensive possession where he has the ball(i’m not talking about dunks off pick and rolls, catch and dunks or dunks off rebounds)

if Dwight Howard has the ball with his back to the basket, he’s going to throw an elbow to clear space

lebron has alot to prove. if he was “king” james, he would’ve atleast put a fight against san antonio. and with such a strong season he had this year with the mvp award, he should have made it to the finals. you’re comparing apples and oranges, dwight howard isn’t overrated and has proved something.

I think Dwight is a very good center, the best in the league probably because of his defense and rebounds. But offensively, he has a lot of work to do. He should just watch tapes of guys like Olajuwon, McHale and even Pau.

LeBron is the far better player and he did’nt have as much help as Dwight did. Orlando was just a terrible matchup for Clevland, they could’nt stop anybody. Dwight killed Z, Rashard got all the open looks he wanted, and Hedo was playing like an all-star aginst whoever they put on him.

i thought howard did an extremely good job on bynum, and in some cases made it extremely hard on pau and odom. although it wasn’t enough to stop the lakers. lebron on the other hand, has big z, ben wallace, varejao, yet they couldn’t stop howard. you are right about lewis, he made the clutch shots atleast, but as far as howard being overrated, it’s just a hater act.

It depends on what you mean by overrated. Dwight is the best center in the league in my opinion. But when you hear people bring him into the MVP discussion and you have guys like John Hollinger insist that anyone who votes Kobe over Dwight is an idiot who does’nt understand that PER has proven otherwise, then yeah, you can say he might be overrated.

He’s a great center, but he’s no olajuwon or Shaq. He either needs a lot more help or needs to drastically improve his offensive game if he is gonna win a title. If Jameer comes back to playing like he was before the injury next year, then they could win the east again.

Regardless, I think we all agree that DHamp is the greatest basketball mind since Gheorge Murasean.

i’ll agree to the mvp discussion. personally, i think it’s wade, paul and kobe. paul couldn’t do much for his team this year, i think it was a breakdown in chemistry. howard to me is the best center in this league. if he could shoot 70-75% from the free throw line, he wouldn’t need to expand his offensive game. but that’s not the case, a go-to move for howard would make critics hush about him.

Yea Howard really shot down that offensive mastermind andrew Bynum who averaged about 6 points a game in the playoffs.

And somehow he was able to score on the incredible defenders of “it takes me half the shot clock to get on D” Illgauskas, 6-8 unathletic Anderson Varejao, and Ben “I have one knee” wallace.

Howard averaged 15 points a game in the finals. he never had more than 21. he shot poorly from the line from most of the series. A superstar doesn’t average 15 points a game in the finals. you will never see that from lebron, or kobe, or duncan. Even defensively Pau Gasol could do anything he wanted in the paint and shot something like 65%.

Not to say Howard isn’t a tremondous player, but to insinuate that he is even close to Lebron, because his team won one game in the finals is ridiculous.

that Dwight is overrated, i just think that like with so many people (sebastian telfair, greg oden, kwame brown, etc) the hype exceeds the player, and honestly, as of right now, only two people have lived up to their hype, LeBron and Derrick Rose. Dwight was labled as a strong rebounder and though defender outta high school, and that’s exactly what he’s been right? with that said though, he needs a couple moves, because the Lakers showed just how raw offensively he still is. people keep forgetting he’s only 23! if he’s still liek this around 27-28, then the overrated talk has some grounds

For my first point and Dwight never was suppose to be a great post man… I believe in D Hamp post about Dwight being over rated EVERYONE stated that… People knew Dwight wasn’t a beast in the low post… I believe he’s rated just fine… When has someone on ESPN said Dwight was a great post man? Not over rated for being not rated in the post lol… Say what you want, but the Cavs look better on paper and they lost to Orlando… With the 3rd best player in the league in my opinion LBJ… Kobe, Wade, then LBJ….. But that’s just me… But Kobe’s first…. You can switch around the other 2…

    I think the Order is

    Kobe
    Wade
    LBJ

I think LBJ is 3rd for 1 reason. He has not taken his team over the hump. I mean he made a legendary performance against the pistons. But I think he needs a wing player next to him. Wade and Kobe have the rings…time for LBJ…maybe next year

I personally think Dwight is like 6th or 7th

as much as i agree with you about DHAMP, i have to mention that your assessment that the Cavs have a better supporting cast around LBJ than the Lakers do around Kobe is just as retarded as anything that has ever been stated by Mr. DHAMP…Jemele Hill with a penis…..furthermore, you fools putting LBJ at #3 make me sick. i’ve been hearing a lot lately about how Jordan didnt win a title until he was 29. so you’re telling me he didnt become the best player in the NBA until the day he won that ring? that’s ridiculous….i think you use the championships as a barometer as long as its convenient for you. i guess if the Magic had won Dwight Howard would be ahead of Lebron too. if the Nugs had won you could have dropped him behind Carmelo as well.

I have LBJ second just like most people. Truth is Kobe, LeBron and Wade are all very close, so it should’nt sicken you to see him third. It’s a legitimate opinion.

if LBJ had won the title, would you have put him at #1? people are basing their rankings of these guys based on championships, which is a team award. if LBJ was better than Kobe 2 weeks ago, chances are he is still better. and vise versa. if Wade was better than LBJ a month ago he is still better. Kobe is not better today than he was 3 weeks ago because he got a ring. LBJ is not worse than he was 2 weeks ago because he lost in the Conf. finals. Wade is not worse than LBJ just because he lost in the 1st round…..but if you saw LBJ, Kobe, & Wade play all year and think LBJ was the 3rd best, that sickens me.
