paradigmnParticipantOkay…I want to choose my words wisely because "marketing" young basketball players is delicate subject. I am not just talking young….Talking about 4th and 5th graders here.
It is obviously WAY to early to rank these players….but….there are sites that do it. Since sites do it…parents of young ballers naturally want to see their childs name in "bright lights" if you will.
How can parents accomplish this??? Make enough highlight tapes untill their child gets recognition. Granted their kid has to have some skill.
Anyways…I am not here to get into the long debate of whether its right or wrong…I just came across this video and I thought it was clever "marketing" on the parents behalf.
The player is Jordan Montgomery. He is 10 years old and going into the 5th grade. He is ranked as the #2 player in the class of 2019…LOL…I know its absurd…but anyways…..I am not here to critque his game or get into why its too early to rank 10 year olds…I just thought this video was well put together by the parents (or whoever made it).

The NBA has their commercials and promo’s "Where _______ Happens." Well I was thinking if they did one where they were able to obtain video of young NBA players playing in recreation leagues or YMCA leagues or whatever and have clips of them playing at a young age and showing their progression from rec to high school to college (if they played there) to the NBA….
The tag would be….Where Developing Happens
