Trade:
Chicago gets: Mayo, Ariza.
Get the SG they need, get a decent SF.
Memphis gets: CP3, Deng
Get top5 PG and better SF for system.
Hornets gets: Gay, Conley, Gibson
Get player they can build around in Gay + 2 starters, keeps them in playoff talk.

Some lesser players could be added + draft picks.
Plausible? What you think?

kdtriv01ParticipantI don’t think Paul would sign an extension with the Grizz, so the Grizzlies are unlikely to go for it. I think the Bulls would rather have Deng than Mayo and Ariza. Personally I like it.

TyroberParticipantBulls are not downgrading their small forward spot just to upgrade the shooting guard. They would be much better off signing someone with their MLE. Having said all that there is no way Paul wants to be in Memphis.

sdfgsdgdfgdfgdfgfdgfParticipantI personally feel that Paul isn’t the type of person who’s to fussed where he plays {I don’t care if NY is where he apparently wants to go}, if he is serious about winning a championship. He would be wise to consider an offer to Memphis if it came.

TyroberParticipantPaul is serious about winning a championship. But he wants to do it in a big market and with the Clippers, Lakers, Knicks I could see him winning a championship anywhere he goes. He might not win one no matter where he goes

sdfgsdgdfgdfgdfgfdgfParticipantI know where your coming from, but I do feel that the Clippers will go after Howard and CP3 only will end up there if the Nets (or someone else) lands Dwight.
As for the Knickers and Lakers, they both have nothing to offer the Hornets tbh.
Also don’t know how much we can trust these but…
‘"He has not asked for a trade to the Knicks because he knows the Knicks don’t have anything to offer," the source said. "He wouldn’t insult the Hornets by doing that."’
‘If Paul leaves the Hornets, the source said, he would want the team to be content with the assets it receives in return.’
But at the end of the day, Paul has never said he want’s to play in a big market team. Ideally I’m sure he would, but I do think Paul is the type of player who knows that if the pieces are right and the team has a good chance at the championsip, he will gladly join. My two cents anyways.

JoeWolf1Agreed Tyrober, Paul wouldn’t goto Memphis and I don’t think the Grizz would give up Gay, Conley, and Mayo to get him. Especially since we don’t know if Gasol is going to resign.

TyroberParticipant@KKspeedy. Yes Paul has never said he wants to play for a big market team, but does he really have to say it? When has he said he is leaving NO? He hasn’t but we all KNOW he will not be there next year. But if CP3 wants to play in a big market and he has the option of playing with Amare and Melo, Griffin, Gordon, and Jordan, or Kobe and Gasol then we all KNOW he is going to play there instead of with Marc Gasol and Randolph. I understand what your saying, but Paul will not be wearing a Grizzlies uniform.

RipDeuceParticipantWhy is everyone trading Rudy Gay?

mcbaileyParticipantAm I the only one who’s not big on Deng? I agree that Ariza would be a downgrade, but I personally don’t think by much.

Charlie SheenParticipantChris Paul will be a Knick stop with all these other trade scenarios, yeah they have nothing to offer in a trade BUT he can just sign as a FA, and still get his money how, the same way Cleveland signed and traded LeBron over to Miami, Paul will get signed and traded to New York for a 1st Rounder, cash and either Douglas or Fields, New Orleans has no leverage at all take it or leave it

HitsterParticipantThe trade idea is a good one and Mayo and Rose together would be fun. But if CP3 has set his sights on NY then I agree he will most likely end up there, if it is via an S and T then the Hornets may get something back otherwise he could walk for nothing.
I saw on Hoopshype that CP3 would like any trade deal to be beneficial to NOH because he wants to perhaps give something back to the team.So I wonder if he might just go to a makeshift team and get the Hornets a better deal then move to NY next summer. That way NOH get a return, NY keep their support roster and CP3 ends up at the Garden for next season.

IndianaBasketballParticipantSo basically in order to help the Hornets, he sh*ts on another team that’ll be giving up decent pieces to get him? Sweet…

TRC1991Participantany trade idea where chris paul doesnt end in NY is unreadable…he will get his way.

NYK2010ParticipantThats a good 3 team trade.
Chicago would improve their SG spot a ton as Mayo is a huge upgrade.
Ariza would be the 4th option on that team on offense after Rose, Mayo, Boozer and he’s a good defender too.
Also the Grizz would get a smaller contract with Deng over Gay, that will help since they’ll probly resign Gasol.
