Chris Paul hits free agency this summer and I can’t help but feel he will have a decision to make between Clippers and Pelicans, now if you were him where would you go?

Not to say the Pelicans have given up on Holiday, but I think if CP3 is on the table you go after him first and if I’m CP3 having a chance to play with Davis and Cousins is more enticing for me than Griffin and Jordan, all though the market may not be quite the same.

He may go elsewhere but these teams make the most sense to me.

a homecoming for CP3 will be great imo. Holiday can play 2. but they need to find a capable SF or it will be LAC all over again.

He will choose the following teams most likely for the following reasons:

LAC-: Money and lifestyle, Because lets be real unless Blake,J.J and CP3 all take pay cuts there is no cash to pay F.A’s and to be honest I have very little faith in  DOC R as a GM unless CP and Blake say go get us insert names here…Meaning no ring in their future with this team unless Blake or Cp3 took over the GM/personal decisions..

Nola if CP3 wants a home coming of sorts and also says I want you to get these other players to come also…As outside A.D and Cousins they are skinny as the Clippers and I don’t see Jrue wanting to be CP’s back up or Capable to play off the ball full time to be fair…

IF its all about the rings that Only leaves Spurs-He probably wouldn’t face backlash if he went there or Maybe Cavs-to try form team Banna Boat. The Cavs would have to gut there team a little-move iman and most of their bench so they could also bring in mello if the Knicks buy him out..

The 3 wild card teams would be this though:

Minnesota-They have a pretty good team just missing that PG who can shoot and keep teams honest from range/help space the floor. If thibs says I will bring in whoever else you want e.g Blake or who ever then it could happen(He would make sure Wiggins and towns+ maybe dunn were safe from any trade)

OKC-This one is really highly unlikely but he did play there when hornets relocated for a wee bit…So how this works is as follow: Russ gets MVP(Meaning Cp sees he has a star who can do heavy lifting) and we have a reasonable playoff run..CP3 then sees how deep we are and wants to be that piece that helps us keep leads, spell Russell and put us over the top while making his own careers longer so he can eventually go form team bannaboat somewhere.. But this move would mainly happen if Kanter,Russ take back loaded deals when their deals are up so CP can take the money early on(he also would have to take a back loaded deal for this to work).

Chicago…This team is mainly on the preimise of the following: Hoiberg is fired(as he couldn’t handle a championship team) Rondo takes a pay cut,D-wade stays,Butler is kept and they can some how convince another reasonable player or two to come: Blake,Mello or someone of that nature..The bulls would also have to move some pieces to get some reasonable talent in..

I would throw the Spurs in the conversation is CP3 has really had enough and wants the best system. He’d have a great shot to win with Lamarcus and Kawhi.

The Clippers will have to be quite creative this summer unless they want a mega wage bill circa Knicks a decade ago. With CP3 and Griffin having player options and JJ being a free agent something has to give. JJ turns 33 this summer and CP3 turns 32 soon so longer deals would take them into their mid to later 30’s and add in this could be the one really big deal JJ might get.

CP3 does have a $24 million plus player option so might opt in and see what the lie of the land is next year but I feel that if Blake bolted then he may look elsewhere too as at this stage of his career he would likely want to try and be on a legit contender. I don’t know how much money and ego drives CP3 as he could become one of the very top 3 or so paid players in the NBA if he tried for the biggest possible deal. He could also have the option of jumping to a real powerhouse contender as a role player when he was 35/36 if he wanted to in order to go all out for a title. CP3’s game should hold up as he gets older if he stays sound and he could create for the younger players etc. Add in Lowry and to a lesser extent Teague being FAs and you have a lot of PG options out there.

The return to NOP would be a great homecoming and DMC and Davis would love him as a creator but apparently they want to try an retain Holiday.

With so many good young PGs in this year’s draft, a lot of teams will fill their need that way. Plus CP3’s list of desired locations will likely be quite short.

Knicks have cap space and a huge market so might put in an offer to CP3 but they are nowhere near winning so it would be a big gamble.

T-Wolves mentioned above are interesting but have upside, my immediate issue would be if CP3 would want to play Thibs heavy minutes.

Pacers also have cap space and might look at CP3 as an option to get Paul George to stay.

Total wildcard would be Lakers if they held pick and took say Josh Jackson then Magic convinces CP3 to come and pull the strings for Randle, Russell, Ingram and co with a good chance that Paul George comes over in 2018.

If the Clippers lose in the first round I feel Chris will be out of there, chris will go where he has the best chance to compete for a championship, don’t feel he would go to a team not in contention.

Championship wise he would be best to go with the Spurs unless the Cavs did major maneuvering.
