high floorParticipantI didn’t watch the game last night, but I caught the highlights on NBA TV. Rajon Rondo had an inbound violation & after the ref whistled him for it, Cousins literally stared at the official and sarcastically clapped for like a 6 Mississippi count. The ref, obviously annoyed for being shown up, issued a technical foul to the big man. The announcers and analysts called it ticky tack, but what was the ref supposed to do? Just stand there and let DeMarcus taunt him like that??
It was beyond pathetic when Cousins acted shocked, flailing his arms in the air like a child, as if he did nothing wrong in protest of the decision. It’s just another moment (among hundreds of others) for Cousins that makes me question if he’ll ever get it. It was embarassing

Jr. ROXASParticipantI think too it’s a culmination of all the whining he does during the course of a game. Really, I’ve never seen a player complain at LITERALLY every non-call. I mean, I watch a lot of Kings games, and he really does complain about everyting. I guess an official will get annoyed at some point.
Also, this is where the whole "good relationship with Malone" comes in. There was a narrative last season that Malone will do all the comlaining for Cus and that he will take all of Cus’ Techs.
And it actually worked. Everytime Cousins goes to whine mode, Malone, instead of restraining him which is ususally the right thing for a coach to do, senses this and will step in front of Cousins and get all heated on the official to a point where its overboard. Obviously, Cosuins doesn’t want his coach to get T’d up and give free points to the opponent. So he restrains himself so that Malone won’t have to get automatically get all riled up.
With Karl, man, it’s like he doesn’t care if Cousins gets a T. He just sits in the bench and says nothing. He’s really become a reserved coach and I really think he’s lost his fire for coaching, and Cus doesn’t respect that.

Hype MachineThe refs sure must hate Boogie. Pretty bad unless you compare it to Rasheed Wallace who got 41 in a season.
That record will take some beating.
Im trying to find the all time Flagrant foul record. All I can find is Charles Oakleys career high of 43.
Dwight Howard leads the league this season with 4.

SubZeroParticipantDifferent DeMarcus topic, he was one assist and one block away from a 5×5. Even with his “troubles,” he’s still amazing

high floorParticipantA 30pt, 10reb, 5assist, 5stl, 5blk line would have been historic. The only players to post that line (albeit 20pts instead of 30) would have been Derrick Coleman, Hakeem Olajuwon, & Draymond Green this year against the Celts.
His talent is what makes being a fan of his so frustrating.

SubZeroParticipantI hear you. He was on one of, if not my absolute favorite college teams ever so I’ve been a big fan of his since then. It’s hard to defend him sometimes

HitsterParticipantCousins is frustrating but until we put him on a contending team we cannot see what he can really do and if his attitude improves.
Sheed was a different type of player to Cousins probably less talented but Sheed played with a real passion and was part of successful teams. Plus he played on a lot of teams and left the NBA on his own terms so his attitude was never an issue. His techs almost became a bit of a running joke.

TRC1991ParticipantMy buddy and his Dad sat court side at a Kings game and my buddy’s dad had to yell "next play DeMarcus. Move on to the next play" about 12 different times he said
