bkb77ParticipantI will start by saying I still think the sixers should make a Move for Wiggins or Jabari, but if neither the cavs or bucks will make a trade happen and the sixers are staying at 3. Theres a lot of reports saying that they have serious interest in Dante Exum.
So could Dante Exum and Carter-Williams work together. They both are simlar players 6’6 point guards\combo guys that need the ball in their hand. But at 3 Exum is porbably your best option if your not willing to gamble on Embiids Back and Ankle.
So what do you think a Exum MCW backcourt would look like and play like together.

vulture711ParticipantExum isn’t a point guard anyway. Not sure who thought he was. He’s a slashing 2 guard who needs to get stronger and improve his jumper. MCW is a PG. They should provide lanky D and hit the boards as MCW did last year. Both can lead or get out on the break.
I personally wouldn’t be spooked by Embiids injuries

Ebown5ParticipantI don’t think that they are a similar as people make them out to be.
For example, I don’t believe that MCW could play the 2 close to as well as Exum can. He isnt the scorer or finisher that Exum is. On the flip side, I’m not conviced that Exum is a natural point guard. He may have the skills of a point guard ,but I’m not sure if he is a natural point guard.
So for me they are two different players that are best suited for different positions. Exum may disagree, but maybe Hinkie doesn’t.

conchahockenParticipantI like Exum. I really do but from my limited videos of him he seems to be a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be successful. It’s reminiscent of Sixers drafted Evan Turner when they already had Iggy. You can blame Dougy C but Turner had a hard time early on with Dre providing a similiar skillset.
That said, I think Exum is a far better prospect than Turner and BB will give both MCW and Exum ample time to grow unlike Collins.

Ebown5ParticipantI definitely learned the hard way the problems of having a two guard that needs to have the ball in his hands like Evan Turner. I believe that Turner is better suited to a point forward or point guard role. I actually think that Turner can be a very good player if he finds the right situation.
With Exum, I get the sense that he CAN play with the ball in his hands, but that he doesn’t have to have it to be effective. He played off of screens much mor ethan Turner did, and he is a far better slasher than Turner is. He is also much quicker and longer than Turner.

JCliff24ParticipantWhat scares me about Exum is just like Marcus Smart he is very adamant he is a PG and not a SG. From the interviews with him it sounds like there may be some struggles convincing him hes a 2-1 rathern than a 1-2.

negguaryParticipant@Jcliff I’ve grown a little more warm to the idea of Exum, but then I just wonder and worry will he get in town and be disgruntle because he wants to play the one. Therefore, not putting his passion and energy into developing as a 2 with MCW. He’s come out and said in interviews that he wouldn’t want to go to a place like clippers etc with a point guard already in place. He has also said that he has told GMS he is a one that’s what got him here. Granite MCW and Exum seem like higher character guys that Irving and waiters but I don’t want it turning into a situation like that.
