HitsterParticipantWith the Cavs having two top 4 picks, the LBJ exception etc and rumours that the T-Wolves are looking at trade options. I wondered if anyone else thinks some high picks could be in play. We heard a rumour that the Cavs offered 4th pick and the exception for Rudy Gay, so I wondered if either them or the T-Wolves might go further and offer up the first or 2nd pick?
With some big name FA’s due in 2012, I wonder if any of those teams would consider a deal if offered a top 2 pick this year for their franchise player? We saw both Melo and Deron Williams traded last year so mega players can be moved and if Cleveland or even T-Wolves wanted to try and get better quickly then what better way than to target a franchise player.
The franchise player’s existing teams would be loathe to lose them but if the players started talking about trades then a 1st or 2nd pick as the main part of any trade would not be a bad place to start rebuilding from and even if the team struggled next year, a high pick in the deep 2012 draft would not be a bad option.
I’m not mentioning any actual names to save making rash trade suggestions but people can probably guess who the player I have in mind.

MJBrownParticipantIt was reported this morning that Toronto and Minnesota are in talks regarding swapping picks. DeRozan would go to Minnesota and Flynn would come back to Toronto. The closer we get to the draft, the more Minnesota’s pick will be in play.

MJBrownParticipantcheck doug smith from the toronto star. I read it in the paper this morning. I, being from Toronto, hate the idea of that trade as well. I don’t believe Colangelo has any intentions of letting Demar go. Now if its Calderon, its time to talk
