BKKnicksfanParticipantI’m writing something for my new blog: NBA State Of Mind
– With the KFC Yum center being built and the NBA having a couple teams in flux about moving, can Louisville be a underrated candidate to recieve a NBA team? In 2001, they did place a price to get the Vancouver Grizzlies, until Memphis won the Grizzlies. Along with that, they have two good college basketball teams in the state of Kentucky AND it has had history with the ABA in the late 1960’s to Mid 70’s with the Kentucky Colonels.
Can Kentucky hold a NBA team down?

PaulsJayhawksParticipantKentucky basketball has always had loyal fans and with UK being the hot place to go and always talked about I think now is a time it would work espescially with the KFC Yum center.
Pull in Ashley Judd and some greasy chicken and Id go!

OhCanada-ParticipantI would love to see that happen (of course Ill be routing for Vancouver or Seattle to reaquire teams first and foremost). We dont see this done enough in the sports industry but I feel leagues should put teams where that market would thrive. You dont put a hockey team in Tennessee lol, just like they dont put football teams in Canada. Kentucky is a basketall state and always has been, this team would definitely thrive.

HitsterParticipantCoach Cal has spoken up for this in the past and any franchise in the state drafting a player from UK would be a great local media story.
With the Arena being called the KFC Yum Centre no doubt Eddy Curry would love to be on the roster.

B EazyParticipantIt’s all about Kansas City. They’ve got the most things going for them right now if a team were to relocate.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantA team in Kansas City, Seattle, or somewhere in Kentucky would be great.
I kind of fell in love with the Kansas City area after watching The Assassination of Jesse James (damn good flick) even though the area looks probably nothing like how it looked 100 years ago.
Most of the movie was actually filmed in Alberta, Canada, I believe.
EDIT:
Kansas City would also be excellent choice, because the University of Kansas is 45 minutes away and the University of Missouri is 2 hours away, so there already is a ton of hoops buzz in the area.

M-DYMESParticipantSend a team to the Burgh. They have a championship atmosphere amongst most sports and now have a newly constructed venue to play at in the Consol Energy Center. The PITT Panthers have a large following from the Pittsburghers. I see no reason why a team cant succeed in Shitsburgh.

kaceyParticipantLouisville can certainly succeed with an NBA team. Unfortunately, the KFC YUM center isn’t where the team would play. Due to the lease agreement that U of L has with the stadium, it basically prevents a NBA team from being profittable when playing there.
However, Freedom Hall, which is where U of L use to play is available and the group of investors have mentioned renovating that stadium for NBA usage.
