mgreener_34ParticipantSo I wanted to add onto that thread because my friends and I just recently had a conversation about this a couple weeks ago. We were watching a Warriors game and during the game the broadcasters said that Curry was having the greatest season for a guard since Jordon, and we tried to think of comparable/better years.
So my question which pertains to the other topic, is what are the greatest seasons of all time for a guard in the modern era?
Here are just a couple to mention and discuss?
Dwane Wade 2008-2009
30.2 ppg 7.5 apg 5 rpg 2.2 spg and 1.2 bpg on 49/32/77 shooting
Steve Nash 2006-2007
18.6 ppg 11.6 apg 3.5 rpg .8 spg on 53/46/90 shooting
Tracy McGrady 2002-2003
32 6.5 rpg 5.5 apg 1.7 spg .8 bpg on 46/39/77
Ray Allen 2005-2006
25.1 ppg 4.3 rpg 3.7 apg 1.3 spg on 45/41/90 shooting
Chris Paul 2008-2009
22.8 ppg 11 apg 5.5 rpg 2.8 spg on 50/36/87
Allen Iverson 2005-2006
33 ppg 7.4 apg 3.2 rpg 1.9 spg on 45/32/81
Kobe Bryant 2005-2006
35.4 ppg 5.3 rpg 4.5 rpg 1.8 spg on 45/35/85
Derrick Rose 2010-2011
25 ppg 7.7 apg 4.1rpg 1 spg on 45/33/86 shooting
Honorable mention goes to Russle Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Monta Ellis, and Paul Pierce if you considered his 2004 year a SG year.

mgreener_34ParticipantI tried not to include years where the player didn’t play over 70 games. That’s why I excluded Westbrook from the list. Curry has to actually finish out the year with these numbers to be added to that list.

Hype MachineYou can keep all those stats…all you need to do is look in the win column.
Golden State is unbeatable because they have Steph Curry…and the opposition doesnt.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantIMO 2014-2015 Curry deserves to be on that list above Ray Allen and Derrick Rose, 23.8 PPG, 7.7 APG, 2 SPG in under 33 minutes per game (when adjusted for minutes played those numbers are also better than several others on the list). He also shot 49/44/91.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantWhat do you consider the modern era? I’m guessing 2000 and beyond cause all the seasons listed were since than. 2000-2001 Iverson and 2007-08 cp3 should definitely be mentioned here imo.
2005-06 Kobe is still tops for me though. The way he was able to score the ball and do so pretty efficiently despite the lack of talent surrounding him was unbelievable. 2008-09 Wade and 2002-03 t-mac are close as well.

daggers818ParticipantNot saying it’s the best because it depends subjectively on what one favors, but CP3’s season averages of greater than 20/10/5 is unmatched in league history except by Magic and Oscar.
Kobe’s 35ppg season was unreal. Our team really sucked those years, so Kobe got his chance to put up some big numbers and feed his ego. That said, it was still pretty fun to watch him go. Each night was a chance for 50, and it seemed 40 was almost too easy for him to hit that year.
