lets say that the lockout would end soon, and the season would start mid season, how would the draft order will be?

will it be the same as last year?

if that so, then the bulls recieves the draft right to the 1st pick of the Bobcats

(Bulls receive the Bobcats’ 2012 first-round pick (top 14 protected in 2012, top 12 protected in 2013, top 10 protected in 2014, top 8 protected in 2015, unprotected in 2016) (Tyrus Thomas trade 02-18-10))

and the Celtics recieved 1st round pick of either clippers or timberwolves

(Celtics receive the Clippers’ 2012 first-round pick, via Thunder (Eric Bledsoe trade) (top 10 protected in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, unprotected in 2016. In 2012, the Celtics would receive the lesser of the Clippers first-round pick or the T’Wolves’ first-round pick (Marko Jaric trade)) (Jeff Green trade 02-24-11)

    So my question is,

What would the two teams do with thier picks?

If the order was going to be the same, wouldn’t the Bulls have to wait, because the Bobcats is top 14 protected and Charlotte was in the lottery? I’m really not that clear on how protected picks work to be honest.

If the Celtics get a top-14 pick they need to target Brad Beal, because none of the big men available at 7, assuming Clippers don’t win the lottery, would be worthwhile. Beal could learn under Ray Allen, given how similar their games are, and Rondo, Beal, Green would form a nice core for the future, with Bradley playing a combo-guard off the bench to spell either Rondo or Beal.

Same for Chicago he’d fit perfect next to Rose and he has a great work ethic and is very mature he would instantly adapt to the defense and team spirit and would take some of the load off of Rose to score as he can light it up and doesnt need to go one on one to do so he will keep players honest he truly is Ray Allen w/ great athelticism

The Clips will be a decent team this year and will finish too high for Boston to draft Beal. Look for them to take Terrence Ross or Doron Lamb. Minny will improve a bit with guys getting older, and Adelman instead of the worst coach in the league. I can see them finishing with 30ish wins, and giving around the 7th pick to the Clips. So Quincy Miller? They have their holes at PG and SF but Aminu seems the type who’s never going to reach his potential, so I wouldn’t hold my breathe. I’d take my chances with Bledsoe. Also Middleton could be an option as he could play 2 positions giving them a better depth, something they lack. But I would love to see Barnes on that team next to Griffen ad Gordon.

Brad Beal has all the tools to become an eric gordon type of player. I just hope flordia works the offense towards beal. Flordia has tons of combo guards to se seeing how beal adapts to that will be key.

If minny finishes out of the top 5  the clippers should consider Quincy Miller ,Perry Jones. I still believe Perry should be a nba small foward. what do you guys think?

If a pick is protected, then the team would not get the pick if it was in that protected range. Meaning The next draft if Charlotte ends up with the 14th draft pick or better then Chicago would not get it. Chicago can only get a pick if it falls outside of the protection so it may be awhile. Same thing applies to Celtics.

Celtics in my opinion would be looking at best player available. They need the youth. The only time it might become an issue of passing over the guy is if he’s a pg. I think Bulls are going to be in a similiar position when they get their pick. It has to be nice to think that with as bad charlotte is that eventually they are going to get a chance to go after a nice impact player. As a Bulls fan it would be nice to see the Bulls end up with the top pick added to Rose in his prime and by then Mrotic is probably over. I hate looking so far ahead, but not only are they competing now, but some of their more recent moves might keep them in contention for awhile.

Brad Beal would be very complimentary beside of Rose. Middleton and Lamb would be decent as well. As for the Clipps,…Miller would be a nice piece to the puzzle, but personally I think it would be smarter to take a glue guy like either Kidd-Gilchrist or a legit pg with true pass first mentality like Kabongo. My LAC preference in actually Kabongo. Otherwise I’d just wait till the second round for a PG and hope Marshall to fall.
