TRC1991ParticipantI have been skeptical in the past about making NBA tiers for instance whether kobe and lebron are on MJ’s tier, etc. but after watching melo’s unspeakable game against lebron, and durants unreal 27 game streak of 25 + points i’ve decided to make this tier and i think everyone will agree that this is starting to make a LOT of sense
NBA Tier 1:
LeBron James
Kobe Bryant
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin DurantTier 2 is like bosh, paul, williams, howard, dirk, etc.
the top 5 seperate themselves because they absolutely can carry their teams..lebron and wade in the past have had horrible surrounding casts and both have found ways to win, kobe has had a good cast but we all know he could still win if he was surrounded by mediocre players, durant is young but hes already averaging 30 and 8 at 21 years old…melo is an absurd scorer, he has so many attributes
you guys agree with what im saying?

the I in winParticipantI’m hesitant to put Melo and Durant up their because the other three literally do everything. Score, assist, rebound, defence. Melo is probably the best scorer in the nba followed by Durant and both rebound at a decent clip but neither are good passers and are slightly above average on D.
Tier 1:
Lebron James
Kobe Bryant
Dwayne Wade
Tier 2:
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Durant
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/22/2010 - 1:28pm #259429
kurtu17Participanti disagree with you on that especially on Carmello…you know why because he is a leader on that team with chauncey of course….they have been around the top of the standing for a couple of years in a tough western conference..can win a big games for you and his defense is improving…ands better then stats…
Kevin durant this guy is already worth a max contract…took his team from lottery and maybe to the second round if he can get the 4th or 5th seed in a tough western conference…and this guy is still getting better..0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/22/2010 - 1:29pm #259431

quinceyhodgesi second the disagreement. i have to put howard up there as well as paul. it seems alot of list only put the top scorers on there but never take in account the top assists, rebound, block guys who also can score

Adi JosephI view it as:
Tier 1: LeBron James
Tier 2: Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade
Tier 3: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Tim Duncan

kurtu17Participanti forgot bout howard….this guy could be on tim duncans level if he can just extend some range or add a couple post moves…

TH38L4CKM4M84Tier 1: James
Tier 2:
Tier 3: Bryant, Anthony, Paul, Durant, Wade, Nowitski
…followed closely by Duncan, Howard, Bosh, Johnson and WilliamsIn 3-4 years…
1:James
2:Durant
3:Anthony, Paul, Wade, Bosh, Howard, Evans0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/22/2010 - 2:27pm #259458
kurtu17Participanti understand when ppl say james is the best player on the planet…but kobe is either sharing that title or right behind him..and he can argue the same for mello, wade, and howard…

NYKnumba3Participanthes not third tier player but dirk is better then dewight i think dewight i mean sure thing all of famer in dirk best shooter for a big man but “superman”is better on d and boards and his O is getting there so im not going to make much fuss about it i guess you can interchange them

Michael.S.ParticipantI agree with Adi Joseph
LeBron James is probably the best basketball player I have ever seen..clearly leaps and bounds ahead of everyone
Other than that Id probably put Dwight Howard in the 2nd tier.. and possible Melo..I like the new found leadership nowadays from Melo and Dwight Howards offensive game has really come along…except the jumper that he shot off the top of the backboard vs Cle. Haha
