Well they have been going on since Tuesday, though major ones start up this Tuesday. Though, some great conference tournaments have been going on already. Has anyone been watching???

The D1-AA tourny have started, but there’s no real reason to watch. No legit prospects play in that low a level this season. The games are sloppy too, I can’t watch those teams play for too long, and that’s saying something because I usually can watch any teams play.

I’ll be watching alot of conference tourny games though,

my favorite time of the year is approaching, i can feel it. The pac 10 tournament is gonna be way different this year because unlike past years where there are 5-6 teams getting in, the conference is probably looking at 2 teams this year so the conference tournament is wide open and a chance for all the sorry teams to steal an undeserved tournament spot is in effect. That will add to the excitement big time.

Iggy first it’s the 1-A, 1-AA is a football term. Second plenty of prospects in these tourneys, they may not get drafted, but that does not mean they’re not nba talent.

I wouldn’t say sloppy, rather more defensive minded games since the offense does lack.

I’ve been watching the Colonial conference tournament quarterfinals.  I’m watching VCU vs. George Mason now.

Old Dominion won earlier so they are in the Semifinals.

Have mentioned my love for my school (Hofstra), so the CAA is always a big deal for me. I am hoping Hofstra beats Northeastern, we’re the hottest team right now. You have to watch Hofstra’s junior guard Charles Jenkins he’s an nba prospect borderline draft pick for the 2011 nba draft. Won CAA POY this year as a junior.

Yeah I’ll watch that game if it comes on TV.  I think Northeastern will beat Hofstra but I expect it to be a close game.  I think Old Dominion will win the whole thing.

Northeastern is notorious for laying an egg in the Richmond, but I do agree it will be a close game. I think ODU will struggle against either VCU/GMU but the winner of that game will likely win the conference tournament.

Sanders has been pretty solid this game.  I’ve also seen him about 4 or 5 times throughout this season.  He is OK, I wouldn’t pick him in the lottery. He should be a late 1st round pick in my opinion.  There are just too many PF/Cs that are better than he is.

I have seen him play probably his best game of the season when he dropped 31 against Hofstra, and I heard the nba scouts at the game were impressed, but he only had 5 rebounds. He has a nice mid-range game, but he also has a bad attitude, his shot blocking abilities aren’t as great as made out to be because Hofstra has 2 better shot blockers than him. I see him as a decent role player at best, but if the attitude continues he won’t last in the league long.

suprisinly those small conference tournaments end up being very good games for those wholike to watch basketball reguadless of the names on the front and back. i used to skip over them untill a couple years ago then i started watchign them and liked what i saw with the effort these guys play with. there are alot of second round prospects in these tournaments as well. every once in awhile u find a first rounder but its real nice when you find a guy who everyone missed who ends up making a nice career in the nba

From the 2009 draft you had Stephen Curry and Eric Maynor come out of the Southern and CAA respectively.

I was talking about this year’s draft. That’s why I said no legit prospects play in a level that low THIS SEASON. Well except Larry Sanders.

the low conference tournaments are like the bread before the big meal. lol..there are a couple of other legit prospects that the nba will be looking at just not many that a couple of sites put up or that even the big fans may know about

One guy who I know will get a summer league invite for sure is Ryan Thompson out of Rider, Jason’s younger brother. He’s a nice player whose a 2/3. I think if he goes to the D-League instead of Europe he will have a shot at getting called up to the NBA.

The lower level conference tournaments may not have the NBA talents but they sure are a joy to watch. All the passion and intensity because this is their only chance on national television and winner goes dancing while the loser dissappears. I would 10 times rather watch the Ohio Valley conference championship with Morehead St and Murray St than a potential Big East championship between Syracuse and Nova. The gyms are small but as a basketball fan I love watching these tourneys.
