nateoak10ParticipantIf the NBA still had this award who would you give it to? Couple of candidates could be Monta Ellis, Elton Brand, Ben Wallace etc.

JoeWolf1I don’t think he is a top 4 center, but I think he is a top canidate for comeback player of the year

JoeWolf1he has come back from a lot of injuries and as a #1 pick people we kinda skeptical about he really proved himself.

nateoak10Participantdoubts but more of a major injury or an extremely bad year. Look at how the NFL does it, they wouldn’t choose someone unless they really came back from a terrible year or bad injury. Or maybe a series of bad years

eric palmerParticipantI personally think it should go to Jonathan Bender. I know he hasn’t been very good this year, but still. It is pretty amazing to think that a guy that suffered that many injuries, played a combined 9 games in his last two seasons and hadn’t played a game in the last three seasons.
Just the fact that he made it back to the league after playing 9 games in 5 seasons gets him my vote, even if his performance was below average at best.

JoeWolf1There isn’t such an award so there isn’t anything to reference it by, but they changed it to most improved player in the mid 80’s, so I certainly think Bogut should be in consideration for that award. If this is a different award you are talking like an NFL version maybe someone like Bender or someone who came back from a terrible year, but Bogut played 36 games last year and averaged 11 points and 10 rebounds and one block compared to his 16 ppg 10 rpg and 2.5 blocks while playing on an improved team, I don’t know why he wouldnt classify for that even by your standards
