Wow, didn’t realize how solid that this years group of transfers was.  The jury is still out on White and Kendrick but hopefully the year of ineligibility helped them mature.

The thought of Rosario as a third guard would have been absurd when he came out of High School but you have to think that Florida’s backcourt is right up there with Duke’s for best in the country if it wasn’t already.

I always liked Moultrie at UTEP but felt he underachieved, but I think that a frontcourt of Sidney and Moultrie is just scary.  Plus Moultrie knows how to play alongside a guy like that because Derrick Caracter was pretty similar.

UCLA is just gonna dominate inside now with the Wear twins and Josh Smith but I’m most interested in seeing if Pitino can actually get something out of Tony Woods.  He was really disappointing at Wake and I always felt that he should have been the best player from Wake’s ’08 class.  If Pitino finds him some minutes it would certainly go a long way in helping him to take that next step as a player.  He’s built like an NBA player, but I can’t tell if its confidence or effort but there’s still plenty of growing to be done.  If he plays to his potential that would be a steal for L’ville

Im surprised former Boston College guard Rakim Sanders isnt on the top 25 incoming transfers. He will make noise at Fairfield this year. At BC he averaged over 11ppg all three years he was there and rebounded the ball well. He has breakout potential playing in the MAAC, I could see him averging 18-20ppg.

Is a graduate transfer, and word is he is strongly considering Oregon. That would mean he would join fellow Canadian transfer Devoe Joseph. Not to mention, we have one other spot open as Martin Seiferth and Teondre Williams both are not returning. Would not be surprised if we got one of the top available guys to join the squad, as we are going places. As a former Duck born and raised in TO, I am very excited to have two Toronto connected players potentially play for us, not to mention that both of them could really contribute. Olu is sort of similar to Joevan Catron, who graduated and who also happened to carry our team. I know he has played in the WAC, and that his team finished in last place, but he also averaged 14.2 and 9.4, and even though he is 6’7, Joevan played 4 for us at 6’6. Really hyped to see who will take our two open roster spots.

As far as Malcolm Armstead goes, it is a bummer to see him leave. He was a defensive specialist and played incredibly hard for us during his two years on the team. Pressure D was the key to our success this year, and Malcolm averaged 2.3 steals per game, so you can tell the instincts were there. Malcolm also lead the team in assists (4.4), and while his scoring went down this year and he shot only 43%, he was our most consistent guard by far. Luckily, we have a lot of depth at the position and some fantastic incoming players. Malcolm said that the reason he is leaving is to get a chance to play closer to home for his last year of eligibility, so some lucky Alabama school is going to end up with a nice seasoned PG ready to help right away.

should be interesting to see were Aaric Murray goes, he has al the skills in the world but he’s not coachable. He’s also very immature and can’t handle criticism from coaches, that’s the reason he left.

I think this transfer and sitting out a year should help him.

I was surprised to hear of Murray transfering..I thought if he entered this year’s draft he could’ve been a high 2nd rounder..And with few big men,he might’ve sneaked into late 1st round….

i think that Melquan Bolding of Duquesne and Rakim Sanders of Boston College should have been mentoined on this list. Sanders is transferring to Fairfield and Bolding is transferring to Farleigh Dickinson. Both averaged double digits with their respectable teams last season.

If I’m Duke, I really want Wally Judge, Tarin Bule and/or Royce Woolridge from this list. I think all 3 could be contributors.

There are ALOT of talented guys that are available transfers. Juwan Staten was a very good player at Dayton, Wally Judge has the physical and athletic ability of an NBA PF but wasn’t a good fit for Frank Martin’s demanding style, Standhardinger from Nebraska was a big talent with size, Ramon Galloway was probably the only player on South Carolina that would have been a good player on any other team in the SEC, and then you have Aaric Murray who has 1st round upside with his length and raw offensive talents.

Mike Rosario gives Florida another ultra-talented combo guard who can light up the scoreboard. Florida has ALOT of offensive firepower on the perimter. It should be illegal.

Coach Howland raved about the Wear twins, so much so that Reeves Nelson considered declaring for the NBA despite at best being a 2nd round pick so they wouldn’t take his time. If they are that good (because Reeves Nelson is a pretty good PF who could probably play anywhere in the nation), UCLA will be a top 25 team, and that’s being modest.

Arnett Moultrie is a long and athletic PF who likes to face up and will be a nice threat alongside Sidney and talented PG Dee Bost. Moultrie needs to get tougher though, and more aggressive or he’ll continue to underachieve.

A sleeper TEAM and transfer is UCF and it’s transfer Tristan Spurlock. Spurlock was highly touted in HS and wasn’t a good fit with Tony Bennett at Virginia. But with UCF and their athletic team lead by Marcus Jordan and with their 2011 recruiting class (led by super long, versatile and athletic PG-SF Kevin Ware, who decommitted from Tennessee) being the best out of all NON-BCS leagues, UCF will be a sleeper top 25 team next year.
