TRC1991ParticipantLast year we saw Lawrence Frank axed through 16 games so that makes me ask which coaches will be relieved of their duties soon
1) Jim O’Brien, Indiana Pacers
-Not that he has been surrounded with any talent in his tenure but he has also struggled in 3 years managing losing records all three years (total of 104-142)…Yes, this is the same Jim O’Brien who led the Celtics to a 49-33 record but they unfortunately lost in the conference finals…I think Larrry Bird is starting to feel the pressure and the first person to go if they start out the season 5-15 is going to be the coach.2) John Kuester, Detroit Pistons
-After a very poor season managing lineups in Motown (yes, at one point his frountcourt consisted of jason maxiell and ben wallace…nice offense there) Kuester remains on the hot seat as a coach who never really fit. The Pistons finished 27-55 last season, well below standards and Detroit never really wanted Kuester-their goal was Avery Johnson but had to take the consolation prize after Johnson broke off contract talks…the Pistons aren’t going to compete this year and Joe Dumars may have to make a move.3) Don Nelson, Golden State Warriors
-His 2nd tenure with the Warriors has had its ups (beating Dallas in the 06-07 W.C. 1st round) and its downs (having a team made up of NBDL players) and Nelson is starting to overstay his welcome…After making the playoffs just once in the past four years, the Warriors organization may need to think about making a change for the better. The addition of David Lee should help fix their chaotic offense and Don Nelson may be the odd man out after driving the team to horrible records the past 2 seasons (29-53 and 26-56)4) Jay Triano, Toronto Raptors
-The only reason why Triano isnt 1st on this list is because the Raptors organization will have pity on him for coaching arguably the worst team in the league this season…That being said, Triano has led a bad team to a bad record (25-40 in 08-09) and then a good team to a bad record (40-42 last season) Imagine what he’s going to do with a Horrible team….He isn’t the most polished coach and Toronto could be seeing a new leader soon (Mike Brown? Mike Woodson?)5) Kurt Rambis, Minnesota Timberwolves
-Now Rambis didn’t have a great roster last year but there’s no excuse for a 15-67 season…I personally don’t think Rambis is cut out to coach a team thats simply trying to get out of the gutter…He has the benefit of working for David Kahn who is incompetent and doesn’t know how to win so he may be holding onto his job for a lot longer than deservedly so…Expect the Timberwolves to suck and for Rambis to be on the hot seat all season long but in the end Kahn will publicly announce he’s backing Kurt 100% of the way and will bring him back for ’11-’120 - Posted on: Thu, 07/22/2010 - 4:17am #359783

McDunkinI say its a race between O’Brien and Kuester for who gets fired first

TRC1991ParticipantI agree…i think Kuester goes first because I think Bird and O’Brien have a really good relationship

ilike.panochasParticipantI’ll throw in another name, if the Heat has just a tiny bit of stretch where they struggle or not in the top 2-3 standings in the East during the season, Erik Spoelstra could be on a hot seat, specially with Pat Riley lurking in the back, you know Riley is salivating to coach those big 3. Unfair or not, Erik Spoelstra has zero excuse to not be the best team in the East this year, but im rooting for him to succeed since hes a fellow Filipino.

TRC1991Participantyeah i considered putting Spoelstra for that very reason, but in the end i realized that the Heat will end up making the playoffs and IF they dont win it all, they will have use the excuse that they didnt have a solid enough Center…They will then go out and get a center and that will buy Spoelstra another season

llperezlets wait on rambis before we judge him too much. Everyone on this site seems to agree that the wolves are the worst team and that kahn is making bad moves. So after 1 season we are gonna pin rambis into hot seat territory?

theEDGEParticipantI see Don Nelson being the first coach out.
Before the Warriors were sold there was chatter of firing Riley and Nelson, but they couldn’t do anything before the sale.
So who do you guys think should be the next GM and Coach of the Warriors?
I would go for Pritchard as GM and let Keith Smart be the coach.0- Posted on: Thu, 07/22/2010 - 8:39am #360004

warriorlifeParticipantI’d likke them to keep Nelson and hire Pritchard as GM.
