Jdean24ParticipantTwo weeks ago it wasn’t that close of who the best wing prospect was as I believed Stanley Johnson was far better now Kelly Obure is right on his heals. And Justice Winslow is a stud at Duke. I’m curious as too who you guys believe is the best player will be and maybe the best fit for destinations for each.
Stanley Johnson – 14.4 PPG 6.9 RPG 1.7 APG
Strong pro ready body that will give him a early advantage or his counterpart Obure who is still quite thin. But don’t not possess the length too be a lock down defender a good one yes but elite I don’t think so. Like the passion he plays with and always engaged rare for a freshman.
Kelly Obure – 7.3 PPG 4.2 RPG 0.6 APG
Fair too note since Kelly has been inserted in the starting line up he’s averaging 16.5 PPG 8.5 RPG 1 APG and 1.5 SPG. Small sample size but if he continues at that pace I think he comes off first.
Justice Winslow – 12.2 PPG 4.9 RPG 2.2 APG
Plays on the most talented team of the three. Great finisher for a freshman. Like Johnson has a pro ready body. Hardest of the bunch too evaluate as he plays with other elite players. Great slasher and jump shot will only improve.
The stats as a whole are not eye popping for Obure and a few of his big games came against less then stellar competition. My opinion is Obure will be the first wing off the board come draft day. If your drafting in the lottery you are drafting on potential and I see very few players will more then Obure. I would argue he was more then anyone outside of Mudiday or Okafor.
Would love too hear back from you guys. I’m sure some of you have differing opinions. Let me know.

Critically ThinkingParticipantOubre looks a lot more comfortable in Self’s system. Johnson id put as a better pick than him now because of his will to win, and his shot isnt broken, that can be fixed. Oubre is definitely looking better though, hes playing basketball rahter than thinking too much plus he was put in the starting lineup. Whats going on with Cliff Alexander though?

Jdean24ParticipantCliff doesn’t show up until after halftime every single game. Plus sluggish picks up quick fouls and earns a seat next too Self rather quickly. Then after halftime he looks the the #3 incoming freshman he was touted as.
Are you saying Obure shot is broke? He’s shooting a higher percentage then Johnson. He’s also a better defender. He took Rashad Vaughan completely out of the game when he was on him Sunday against unlv. And he also plays with an incredible amount of passion. Not saying Johnson doesn’t just don’t understand your concerns with Obure. The only problem I really have is the sample size.
Not saying you are wrong just not following you I suppose

tuck243ParticipantYou can’t be serious right? You just mentioned Kelly and defense… You went further and said he’s a better defender than Stanley? Huh? Your reasoning is one game?
Kelly is just now showing up… But Kansas is still underacheiving this year. I love his game though and glad he has come around, but I won’t allow a game or 2 change what he done overall… Or the type of player he was in HS… He has to show this on a consistent basis.. Right now, Stanley is still the better prospect to me. He has things that you can’t teach which take players far in the league…

Tap892ParticipantI don’t see why a 6-11 wingspan wouldn’t be enough for Stanley Johnson to be a great defender.
