rickyD510Participantreke’s about to take over
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:11pm #258926

IndianaBasketballParticipantStill think Reke is about to take over lol? Eric Gordon is giving it to him… 14 points in the 4th quarter and a slam over him and Hawes. 30 points for the game.
He took over the game in the 4th quarter.

BasketBalAllanParticipantIt looked like the Clips had them on their heals the whole game, and you wont win games like that.

quinceyhodgesmaybe if they trade kaman and smith jordan will finally do something consistantly..unless blake comes and play while hurt then its back to the bench..lol

quinceyhodgesguess we know whos the worst out of 2 awful teams now. sac have a pretty bright future though

IndianaBasketballParticipantOther than a few blocks and some rebounds, Jordan played terrible today. I don’t know if he made a bet with somebody that he’d only use his right hand today or what, but he airballed two right handed jumphooks and he couldn’t catch the ball…
What didn’t Eric Gordon do today? He shot the ball from deep, finished through contact at the rim, got to the line and took over in the clutch… Reke had nothing for him.

rickyD510Participanttyreke cant do it all by himself, but it sucks watching the kings in the second quarter of games; they just always seem to have a collapse.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:31pm #258934

rickyD510Participanthow did eric gordon take over in the clutch? they had an 8point+ cushion majority of the 4th quarter all he had to do was hit wide open shots and got help from the referee and got and ones.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:33pm #258935

IndianaBasketballParticipantI meant he took over in the 4th quarter when the game got close and his team couldn’t buy a bucket. He scored 14 of his team’s 22 points in the fourth quarter. A dunk over two Kings, a 3-pointer and a couple of and one’s. He took over the game when the Kings got close and it looked like they were going to make a comeback.

rickyD510Participantthe only thing tyreke didnt have on eric this game is a teammate who can get 20 and 16 boards and got doubled every time by beno udrih in the low post
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:40pm #258937

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe other thing he didn’t have that Eric Gordon had is a jumpshot… 1-3 from 3-point and 2-7 from the line.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:44pm #258938

BasketBalAllanParticipant1-3 from 3pt is not that bad, and free-throws are not jump shots, but Gordon definitely outplayed everyone on the court. He looked great even against Tyreke, who is normally an excellent defender.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:45pm #258939

rickyD510Participantwhat tyreke had on him was a better shooting percentage 64% vs 58%(which is still pretty good) and NOT 7 turnovers
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:51pm #258940

IndianaBasketballParticipantTyreke also shot 11 layups lol. I’d hope he’d shoot a better percentage from there!
Gordon beat Reke in the turnover department 7 to 4, but the 14 points he gave the Kings in the 4th quarter made up for that.
Not much to talk about here though lol. Neither team is very good.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:53pm #258941

rickyD510ParticipantI cant wait till tyreke develops a consistent J, it will be fun to see him develop over the rest of his career
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 8:55pm #258942

BasketBalAllanParticipantIt seems to me that both the Kings and the Clippers have talented players who have definitely shown throughout this season that they can play extremely well, it’s just that they are not even close to being consistent with their play, as opposed to other teams that play at about the level of their player’s talent consistently.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:00pm #258943

IndianaBasketballParticipantAdd that to the fact neither team plays defense…
Reke is going to be a great player though. The J will come. He has the size, strength and the ball handling ability to somehow always find a way to get to the rim. His euro-step move is highly effective. The only weakness I see in his game is a lack of athleticism. He doesn’t have that ability to finish through contact above the rim, which got a few of his shots blocked tonight once the defender got in the right position.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:04pm #258944

BasketBalAllanParticipantTyreke’s bread and butter is being able to finish, its what he does best and why people find his ability to score around the basket so amazing.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:10pm #258946

IndianaBasketballParticipantI said above the rim. He doesn’t have the athleticism to finish above the rim. I didn’t say he wasn’t a great finisher. He isn’t a great athlete, which is the only weakness I see in his game. He pretty much makes up for that with his size and strength though.

Mr. BasketballParticipantr u kidding me guys? out of the whole game all u guys got was gordon, tyreke, and jordan? a huge part of tonight’s win was steve blake. what a pick up for the clips. he was a stud. he had 11 pts, 12 assists and knew when to push it and when to slow it down. the one problem i still saw tonight from the clips was turnovers. they need to stop turning it over so much. If they could just turn the ball over a little less and get outlaw and gooden into the lineup next week, the clippers could go on a nice little run to finish off this abysmal season. if they could it would be huge. Thats the reason the thunder are playing so well this season, they finished off the season very nicely around this time of the year and that led to great chemistry development and momentum for this season. On another note, baron needs to be traded in the offseason. he has been crappy for most of his clipper career and can be a negative influence on the guys when they are down. steve blake is the point guard this team needs. now i know he probably isn’t an ideal starting pg, but he should be for the rest of the season. say what u want, but baron is just not a good fit for this team, while blake is perfect for this team. also, qhodges, stop calling out my team like that. There is no need to call this a battle of crappy teams. i know they’ve had bad seasons but they are on their way. just because ur team is doing well doesn’t mean u can call out other teams that aren’t doing very well. i know my team is doing poorly, but really? the only time i have ever said a team was crappy was when i called out d-grizzly and the grizzlies because i said they can’t win with a roster containing iverson, rudy gay, randolph, and mayo because there won’t be enough shots to go around and i was right. until they got rid of iverson, they were awful. look, the clippers might be struggling, but they aren’t a crappy team, they just need a leader and a true point guard and the might have just gotten that in gordon and blake. we’ll see.

LazarusMunozParticipantno question about that…a guy u wanna build around!
EJ had a coming out party tonight…shows you what having a pass first point guard does for his game…He’s gonna be special and with Blake those are two really solid building blocks…Luv how he had six assists to go along with the 30! Just limit those turnover Eric!

llperezi guess “crappy” is kind of a vague statment and can be interpreted in different ways. BUt i think the clippers qualify as crappy. I’m sure they will get it turned around eventually(sounds kind of familiar), but right now they are crappy.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:54pm #258955

festar35ParticipantThat was nice from Gordon tonight. What stands out for me is 30points from 17 attempts he is just so efficient.
As the Pacers slowly kill themselves i get more and more interested in the Clippers.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:56pm #258957
LazarusMunozParticipantA total team guy with no ego…nothing flashy about him but he knows where to go with the ball and who to feed…
I really wish they could somehow get rid of Baron…This team wont go anywhere with him!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/20/2010 - 9:59pm #258958
LazarusMunozParticipanti luv the way Gordon finishes around the rim…so strong, great at drawing contact and finsihing!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 02/21/2010 - 10:51am #259042

IndianaBasketballParticipantGood job pointing out Steve Blake! He played great last night and is a perfect fit for the team… Dunleavy needs to start negotiating an extension with him right now lol. I think he makes EJ a better player.
The Clippers turned it over a lot, but that’s to be expected considering they’re trying to run now and incorporate new players. I expect the turnovers to be much lower on Tue, since they’ll have gotten a couple of practices in, etc.
