high floorParticipantOne of the least talked about developments this offseason is the huge opportunity Clint Capela has to produce this year for Mike D’ Antoni and the Houston Rockets. As of today, there is literally nobody standing in his way of 32+ minutes per night as the Rockets’ starting center. He’ll have four premier floor spacers around him most of the time in Ryan Anderson, James Harden, Eric Gordon & Trevor Ariza. On the downside he’s a very poor FT shooter though, averaging an abysmal 38% on the year. Yikes.
Now back to the positive. In only 19 minutes per game, Capela averaged 7pts, 6rebs, and 1.2 blocks while shooting 58% from the field. Now compute those numbers to per 36’s… and you have 13pts, 12 rebounds, 2.3blks… while sharing the floor next to Dwight Howard. And you have to think those numbers would go up with another year of improvement, and the infinite increase of space that Ryan Anderson provides at the PF spot.
I’m predicting a big year from Clint in 2016-2017, as he’s on my short list of most improved candidates.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantClint could be a force on defense but centers typically haven’t faired well in D’antoni’s system.
Mad far as most improved I doubt that. I predict Jabari Parker could get the award.

sweaterflexParticipantAmare didn’t look too bad in D’antoni’s system. Not that Capela is Amare, but rim-running centers fit fine in his system. Nerlens started playing much better when D’antoni joined the Sixers and his minutes were staggered with Okafor.

Robb_CParticipantAs long as Clint can run the floor in transition he willl see solid minutes in DAntonis lets just play offense system.. On a side note Harden might average 33ppg
