I don’t think NO should do anything, other than try to build a winner.

They have all of the leverage here since CP3 still has two years remaining on his contract before he can opt out. They’d be crazy to trade him right now.

A lot of it depends on how they are doing midseason. While I am certain they will never trade Chris Paul, if they feel they can contend in the west, look for them to trade the expiring contracts Peja and Songaila(likely along with Posey). If not, I think they will look at the bigger picture and try to contend for the services of Carmelo Anthony. A lot of it also depends on if David West opts out of his 7 million dollar deal and bcomes free agent. I think the Hornets are in a good position, though.

Even though no one knows whats going on because at one point he was demanding a trade and now he wants to say, but I think the Hornets should trade him. The Hornets aren’t winning with him, so they should start fresh. And even if the Hornets were to keep him, despite what Chris Paul said about wanting to stay I nohla, I don’t believe him and he’s not going to what to be there. Nobody wants to play with a disgruntled superstar, so just trade him and get some talent in return. Teams should be lining up to send there best talent to the Hornets to get the best PG in the NBA. IMO, the Hornets should start auctioning him and the best deal they get follow through with it.

If they’re gonna keep Paul then they have to try to surround him with an impact swingman as well as not be so concerned with getting under the luxury tax.

They have Peja’s expiring contract and Collison as trade bait, one or both players should be traded in order to bring in someone to play Robin to Paul’s Batman.

If they’re not willing to take on more salary and make a concerted effort to win now then they should just trade Paul for young players.

If they can get Gallo, Anthony Randolph and Raymond Felton from New York midseason they should pull the trigger.

    Some very good points here.

I would like to see the Hornets go after guys like Andre Iguodala or Danny Grange for Paul. The Knicks option would definitely work too,

People seem to forget..That only 2 years ago Hornets were considered 1 of the up & coming teams in the league..

And most of their core players are still on that team..Plus they’ve added some depth in the backcourt in Collison & Thorton..
They make up some scoring the team got from Stojakovic,Peterson & Posey gave them back then..Becuz Stojakovic & Posey arent the players they use to be..But they had Byron Scott then..
The players respected him..Scott knew how to get those guys to play better..Not sure how a rookie coach can get that respect .With so much turmoil going on with the team….
