Chris Paul injured his ankle in an 86-78 loss to the Blazers. No word on how serious the injury is yet, but there’s no way this team wins 25 games without him. (PURELY hypothetical that this injury seriously halters his play or causes him to miss a significant number of games.) The only upside of him getting injured is a shot at Terrico White or Derrick Favors.

Utah just destroyed Philly without Deron Williams. Maybe the same thing will happen with New Orleans and Chris Paul.

I can’t believe you just compared the jazz supporting cast to the hornets?!? The jazz actually has a quality team surrounding deron williams, Bigs who can score and rebound, athletic wings who can get to the basket and hit a mid-range jumper or two. They also have a more NBA ready rookie backup point guard. Eric Maynor had alot of buzz entering the draft as the most “ready” prospect. He showed that tonight with 13pts and 11assts in his first extended action. On the other hand you have a hornets team with a bunch of one-dimensional pieces…a big who blocks shots but has a very limited offensive skill set, one 3 who only shoots the 3 in Peja (not very well I might add the past couple seasons), wings who would barely make the 12 man roster elsewhere (devin brown and morris peterson), the backup point guard is an undersized defensive specialist with the dubios tag of disappearing during big games *collison* (see his last 3 ncaa tournament numbers compared to their regular season) It’s laughable that you made that comparison!!!

well i wouldnt call the rest of the Jazz “quality players” other than maybe boozer those guys are trash but just not as trash as the hornets

hornets without chris paul are no one, they got nothing and they will win nothing. that team is so screwed it is saddening. no back up pg,if you can call their shooting guard and nba player , vag SF, super vag, i would call okafor a vag but i guess i wont because chandler straight up deserves the word pussy)

When I said quality, I by no means meant star players. But i will count Millsap, brewer, kirilenko (as a 6th or 7th man) and Okur as servicable to quality players in the league. each average 13 or more ppg and outside of okur they all can play defense. Other teams would want these players on their squad haha. the hornets on the other hand have 3 or 4 players nobody would want

The ideal set up for CP3 IMO would be similar to the 02-03 nets that finished 1st in the eastern conference (a formula that the hornets no doubt attempted just failed miserably at) where you have a multi-faceted pg who can score, defend, rebound (i know cp3 can’t rebound as well as jkidd but he gets the job done 5rpg) and pass. Give him 2 finishers; a young K martin and a young richard jefferson, a scoring 2g; kerry kittles, and role players who just rebound and play defense Mutombo, aaron williams (don’t laugh he avg 7rpg 81 games played), jason collins (again 7rpg 81 games played it’s kinda ridiculous to see their numbers). Nobody on that team shot lights out from 3 pt range (nobody over 36%)

Where the hornets fell short was that athletic 2 guard who can score and slash. instead they gave him a 3pt specialist in peja(a shell of his former self) and rasual butler (now gone), morris peterson (never a slasher), james posey (i think he is allergic to shots inside the three point line) and the latest addition marcus thornton (16 of his last 35 shots are from 3pt range) even david west is a jump shooter!!!! Here are the FT attempts for the NO Hornets this year:

    CP3 5.8 Attempts pg
    West 3.8
    Okafor 2.8
    collison 2.0

Nobody attacks the basket but CP3!!!! Why they weren’t in the Jamal Crawford sweepstakes baffles me, I feel sorry for CP3 too thunderstruck SMH

You calling the Jazz trash? Negative point! Wow the quality of posts on this board keep getting worse and worse.

And sportsjunky I wasn’t totally serious. If I was, I would be implying that the Jazz would make the playoffs without Deron Williams, and they wouldn’t. Just like the Hornets wouldn’t make the playoffs without Chris Paul.

With the team they have assembled the hornets wouldn’t make the playoffs with CP3 82 games either!!! hahaha

okay maybe trash was the incorrect word lol. but they are definitely going nowhere in my opinion. the western conference is getting tougher and tougher and i dont really see the jazz going up. i dont really like deron’s supporting cast and i think the supporting cast is just slightly better than the hornets. and the hornets are straight Awfulll outside of paul. trash was a bit too cold lol

is what the Hornets will be getting. There is just no way this team turns it around this year, especially without CP3. Though I just read an article saying he will only miss 1-2 weeks.

You are totally twisting everything I’m saying to make me look bad. Not cool.

Thank you, THUNDERstruck. Us Jazz fans appreciate that.

My bad for taking your post at face value…and if you read my post accurately I was saying positive things about the jazz at all times and trashing the sorry hornets.
