Chicago under almost any circumstance is going to be a highly competitve team next year.

If they want to trade Derrick Rose and keep Butler then it has to be a salary dump with a pick or 2 attatched because that’s about all he’s going to attract. At best they get the 24th and 26th maybe one of the 2 from Philly or 2 role players and a 2nd or future first from Sacramento. No trade involving Rose to NY makes sense so those are their options. I’d like to see them cut ties with Rose if I’m a Bulls fan so they can try to quickly revamp with the cap space a Rose trade would provide. Maybe they get a guy like Mike Conley or Al Horford to latch on but I think the only big name they’d legitimately have a chance to get is Dwight Howard. Chandler Parsons would be a nice pick up as well. Even just finding bargains in areas of need would be the best of circumstances for Chicago this offseason.

If they for some reason trade Butler you have to make it happen for a future stud. I’d want Lavine and the #5 pick plus a future first from TWolves for Jimmy or something along those lines for an offer from another team. Anything less than this is a no go. If you do this than you must sellout completely and trade Derrick at all costs as you rebuild around the youth you just got in the Butler trade plus maybe go for upside with the #14 (Deyonta Davis, Korkmaz, Labissiere, Murray). You could probably find a contender to take on Gibson for a pick or young player. This to me would be jumping the gun after just missing the playoffs with a odd season last year but maybe they see a lack of potential in a team built around Jimmy.

I would personally sit tight which is what I forsee because there are so many if’s after any trade scenario and really lack of options for trading partners. I think they should look at what NY did last year and go after bargains at positions of need then wait to make a splash in 2017 free agency. You’re a destination franchise, you have a Star you can keep building around in Jimmy Butler and you have 20 million coming off the books in the form of D Rose with 4 All Star PG’s becoming free agents plus the likes of BG Ibaka Millsap Schroeder all hitting free agency so even if 2016-17 isn’t great they will definitely be a contender if they can cash in on a big name in the summer of 2017.

I’m a Pistons fan and I think we can be a top team in the East next year so I wouldn’t be mad if they screwed this up but it would be a head scratcher if the Bulls shake things up this summer

Bulls have already said that Butler going to Minnesota will not happen unless Andrew Wiggins is a part of the deal.

No way the Wolves give up Wiggins, and Chicago would do good to get Lavine, number 5 and a future 1st, if possible. Especially if their pick Kriss Dunn is available. Dunn plus Lavine would make a nice young backcourt.

It’s the classic case of a team’s new coach being the complete stylistic opposite of his predecessor. Fred Hoiberg is a long range happy up tempo coach to Thib’s team defense and grind out game, and I feel Chicago needs to blow up their roster.

I think Buddy Hield would be perfect for Hoiberg if they were to trade the 5th pick to Minnesota. There would be some leaner years by trading such an elite two way player, but I think it’d be better for what Chicago is trying to accomplish long term. The Bulls roster is made up of a lot of the same core players that were Thib’s guys, and since he had such a bad relationship with management, I think the Bulls need some fresh blood in the locker room to turn this team around.

A coach has to have the locker room, and Hoiberg is a respected guy in NBA circles, but there’s still a lot of emotions left towards the front office due to Thib’s relationship with them, and I think it’s time to blow up that core and start over.

The remaining Thibbeduex Bulls arent a good fit for Coach Chips a Hoiberg

But after Noah, Gibson and Rose are jettisoned only Butler will be left, and we all know they’ve opened themselves up to the trade chatter going forward…

Looking at their roster they have Butler and possibly Mirotic to build around or use as trade bait, only the Celtics have expressed interest in moving a mountain of picks to land a Star, but Chicago hates Boston and would rather send him out West…IDK what they get for Rose IMO he’s only going to negatively effect any team he’s on…

I do think Lavine and 5 for Butler sounds nice in theory, but Minnesota could probally get rid of Lavine or the 5th pick without losing both for 1 player…

FYI I heard Thibbs wants to trade for Noel to play the role Joakim Noah played in Chicago and envisions KAT as a Pau Gasol 4/5 going forward, he also wants Wiggins to play the Deng role at SF, this is why he wants to trade Lavine or Rubio for Noel and draft Kris Dunn 5th to be that attacking PG ala Rose

Chicago made a trade with Detroit today.

    Spencer Dinwiddie for Cam Bairstow.

Headscratcher for Chicago, but SVG once again showing why he’s one of the best in the business.
