asimpsonxdParticipantChicago trades: Carlos Boozer (exp.), Tony Snell, Mike Dunleavy, Ronnie Brewer (non-guaranteed), Greg Smith (non-guaranteed), Lou Amundson (non-guaranteed), Bulls’ (via CHA) 2014 1st Rd. Draft pick (#16), Sacramento’s 2015 1st Rd. Draft pick (top 10 protected), Bulls’ 2015 1st Rd. draft pick, Trail Blazers’ 2015 and 2016 second-round picks, and the right to swap 2015 first-round picks with the Cavaliers (if Cleveland’s selection falls between 15-30)
New York trades: Carmelo Anthony (S&T 4 year 72 million), Ray Felton (fat), and Iman Shumpert
Oklahoma City trades: Perry Jones, and Reggie Jackson

Chicago receives: Carmelo Anthony (S&T 4 year 72 million), Ray Felton (fat), and Iman Shumpert
New York Receives: Reggie Jackson, Perrty Jones, Carlos Boozer (exp.), Tony Snell, Ronnie Brewer (non-guaranteed), Greg Smith (non-guaranteed), Lou Amundson (non-guaranteed), Bulls (via CHA) 2014 1st Rd. Draft pick (#16), Bulls 2015 1st Rd. Draft pick, Trail Blazers’ 2015 2nd. Rd. draft pick.
Oklahoma City receives: Mike Dunleavy, Sacramento’s 2015 1st Rd. Draft pick (top 10 protected), Trail Blazers’ 2016 2nd Rd. draft pick, and Chicago’s right to swap 2015 first-round picks with the Cavaliers (if Cleveland’s selection falls between 15-30)

Why New York does it: Carmelo wants to win and not rebuild. NY gets something for him (look at Cleveland & Toronto after LBJ and Bosh trades). They get a 1st Rd. pick this year to start rebuilding in a very deep draft, another 1st. in 2015; as well as a future 2nd round pick from Portland. Carlos boozer can be used as a trade chip at the deadline with his $16.8 M. expiring contract – or allow him to walk and free up cap space from himself, STAT, Tyson Chandler, and Andrei Bargnani = 66 Million DOLLARS!!!! (that’s more than the salary cap…) (hello 2 max free agents [K. Love?!]. They also get a promising rookie in Tony Snell and a 2nd year player in Perry Jones. Reggie Jackson will be a focal point while they rebuild and can offer him a nice contract to stay and play his career in New York. The non-guarenteed contracts are for salary and CBA trade purposes and would be waived. Also shed fatass Ray Felton’s deal #cheeseburgers #krispykreme
Why Oklahoma City does it: Oklahoma City is a cheap team and will most likely not be able to afford Reggie Jackson after the 2014-2015 year when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. This way they will get something for him and Dunleavy fits the need as a 3pt. specialist and floor spacer. OKC is 14th in the league in 3pt % in the regular season but in the post season, when it matters, they are shooting just 25% which is bad enough to be second to last in 3pt. %. The Sacramento pick could be a late lottery or around 15-16 next year or the years after (until 2017 becomes second round picks). The real nice asset here is the right to swap with Cleveland next year. Cleveland will be in Playoff “win now” mode again and if they do make the playoffs OKC could be trading their pick 26-30 for a pick in the 15-18 range.
Why Chicago does it: It is absolutely clear the Bulls need a #1 scoring option. With melo’s interest in the Bulls and him stating publicly he wants to win now and will take less money it’s the perfect opportunity to unload the assets the Bulls have been collecting for a superstar. This will limit their moves like signing DJ Augustin and bringing over Nikola Mirotic but it should prove worth it.
Rosters:
Knicks:
Draft # 16 – Clint Capela (PF): Very Raw prospect. Has more of an “American” game than European. Able to draft and stash him for a year or so for a true rebuild.

SF: T. Hardaway / P. Jones/ T. Snell

OKC:
Draft # 21 – Elfrid Payton (PG) – PG with good size, speed, and overall athleticism. Good defender because of this gets lots of steals. Good penetrator.

PG: R. Westbrook / E. Payton
SG: J. Lamb / CJ Wilcox/ M. Dunleavy
SF: K. Durant/ M. Dunleavy/ A. Roberson
PF: S. Ibaka/ N. Collison/ G. Jerrett/

Bulls:
Draft # 16- Adreian Payne (PF) – very athletic and long PF that is surprisingly explosive leaper. Good defender and rebounder and can shoot the 3 pretty well.

PG: D. Rose/ R. Felton/ K. Hinrich
SG: J. Butler/ I. Shumpert/ K. Hinrich

Obviously the plus/minus win estimation does not take into account the draft pick trades

hbomb3300ParticipantYour trade is well mapped out and thoughtful but I wouldn’t do that trade if I was the Thunder. I think they could get more for Reggie Jackson if they decided he can’t be resigned.

Moon RiverParticipantLove this as a road map for the Bulls. Just wish you could make the Mirotic thing work. I have been waiting for that dude to come stateside for Chicago forever.

LitteringAnd…ParticipantWhile I could give you the +1 for a well thought out and concisely presented trade, with clear reasoning for each team involved, I’m simply giving it to you for this: "Ray Felton (fat)"
