r377ParticipantI was surprised they didn’t make the playoffs this year.
What do they do in the offseason and who do they take with their 11th and 41st draft picks ?
…. P.S I hope they keep the 3 blondes in the middle for next season

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantTheir frontcourt rotation is underwhelming and they could really use a legit rim protector. Jarrett Allen, Zach Collins and Justin Patton all seem like guys they would be looking at.

ChammesParticipantWe need a really solid backup point guard. I wanted to go after Brandon jennings when he had his contract terminated with the Knicks. Hopefully MKG will just stay in the gym all summer and shoot, thats why i want mark price back but it wont happen.

HobbyOGParticipantI would shop MKG and some of the bigs. They have too many bigs and none of them are rim protectors.

HitsterParticipantSince Coach Clifford took over Charlotte have been – play offs, lottery, play offs, lottery in his 4 seasons varying from 33 to 48 wins. Maybe after the initial bounce this is their plateau, it would surprise no-one if they were back in the play offs next year with around 45 wins.
Charlotte have a very settled starting five but their biggest need is rim protection as their leading rebounder this season was SF MKG with only 7rpg. However Charlotte have a lot of money committed to their front court and guys who do other good roles there. Marvin Williams has become a very solid glue guy at PF and Frank the Tank needs minutes around him. Zeller and Plumlee are on big salaries at C so they will be expected to play good minutes,
I would have expected them to have made the play offs this season too but the Easst does have good depth and teams like the Pacers only just squeezed in.
Charlotte do have a decent supporting cast around Kemba Walker and have a fairly solid cap level for the next few years. But it does probably need someone else to step up to the next level to give Kemba that bit of extra support to take the team to a regular play off team and maybe towards being a 50 win team.
Otherwise I could see Kemba perhaps looking elsewhere in a couple of years when he hits FA or another team somes snigging for a trade given his very friendly cap salary.

MatosParticipantIf I was Charlotte I’d do three things:
1) Target Serge Ibaka this offseason (legitimately what they need). May have to throw the house at him
2) Draft a knockdown shooter like Malik Monk if he is available.
3) The MKG project is over. Trade him. Maybe some other team might find serious value in him and take on that atrociuos Miles Plumlee contract. How Plumlee has the contract he has is beyond me.
4) If they can get Serge, play him at the 5, go small ball and make use of having bigs off the bench. You can start the big against bigger teams.
Kemba is the team right now. Although I’m not a big Batum fan, he’s efficient and plays good defense. They’re both in "win now" mode but still have a couple of years before crisis mode. They’re both 27.28 years old this season.

HitsterParticipantThe Hornets don’t have any cap room really for at least another couple of years and they need to factor in a possible renewal for Kemba which is likely to be at least double his current salary if he maintains his form and a 2nd contract for Frank the Tank.
So unless they can move players then they cannot make any real FA moves.
