natedogggParticipantthey get 2 million in cash. Definatly helps when they dont sell out the arena very often.

BKKnicksfanParticipantCharlotte might be the worst team in the league now.

Chilbert arenasParticipantThey could use the money but they also could use a young center, and I know Tyler has a few red flags but for a second rounder they could have at least given him a shot. But he also might have been too long term of a project and they need results sooner.

B FreeParticipantI hope this means they plan to start Biyombo from day one and didn’t want to rookie PF/C starting. But I do agree they could have at least gotten a 2nd rounder next year and 1.9 mil. They need some upgrades but I do like the picks they made, they are going high potential with both of them. Now they need to trade DJ Augustine to either a team who needs a back up PG/ bench offense or Minnesota, we know Kahn wants another one.

NO EZ BUCKETSParticipantI really liked charlottes picks. They got a leader and great player in kemba, and they also got a big man who can anchor the defense. I’m not saying they are in the playoffs next year, but they do have some pieces to build around. Great job Michael.

NashyMingParticipantI liked Bobcats’ draft very much until they sold Jeremy Tyler to GSW for 2 million.
Tyler can develop into an offensive force like Andray Blatche (and probably need some mental adjustment) and could be a good front court partner with Biyombo who can be a defensive beast.
MJ’s Bobcats lost a lot of money, so the 2 million maybe more important to him than gambling on Tyler.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe only thing the Bobcats did well was realize that they weren’t going anywhere the way they were. Their actual drafting was awful. Biyombo isn’t going to anchor a defense, he is going to try to block shots and foul a lot. With the horrible roster left in Charlotte, he is going to get exposed early and often. Kemba is a lesser version of D.J. Augustin. He doesn’t run the point as well as D.J. and can’t shoot like him, so what was the point with it?
Getting $2 million for a 2nd round pick in this draft is too much to pass up, especially for a 20-year old who flopped out of Israel and couldn’t start in Japan. If Golden State wants to sink $5-6 million into him in buying the pick and paying him for three or four years, good luck with it. There is a Jeremy Tyler-type that comes out every year.
