ChameleonKidParticipantWhat should the Bobcats do with their two first round picks? Personally, I think they should target a center first and a small forward second. For example, I’m thinking either Jonas Valanciunas(depending how his buyout goes) or Bismack Biyombo with their 9th pick and maybe either Chris Singleton or Tyler Honeycutt with their 19th. Whats your take?

BKKnicksfanParticipantI think they’re going with a guard and post in this draft. My guess is Marcus Morris at 9 and then Klay Thompson or Tyler Honeycutt at 19.

gopack10ParticipantI have them drafting Jonas and Tobias Harris. They could take Darius Morris but I think they are set on going with DJ at the point for a while. They could use another PF and might think of taking one of the Morris twins but I think center and PF are their two positions of need.
I wouldn’t take Biyombo at 9. I might take him at 19 depending on who my 9 was. If Kawhi Leonard falls to them at nine then I think I take the SF first and then take my chances at 19 and perhaps take a guy like Keith Benson in the 2nd round.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThey should go with Marcus at 9 and pray Markieff is still availble at 19.

ChameleonKidParticipantMarkieff isnt really a center, he’s a power forward(plus they already have Boris Diaw and Tyrus Thomas). Do you think Nikola Vucevic might be possibility instead, or would that be a stretch. I’ve seen him go as high as #16 to the Sixers.

paint intruderParticipantThey need someone who can create his own shot, which is what Marcus Morris could bring to the table. Other than that they should look into getting bigger.

HitsterParticipantJonas at 9 would be a logical choice if he is still available. Motiejunas is probably the only 7 footer in the first round but he’s more a finese big and they need a post presence. So maybe they look at Marcus Morris or even Kawhi Leonard who could help fill the gap that Crash Wallace left and with Boris Diaw being in the last year of his deal.
At 19 they have to compliment the 9th pick perhaps with BPA perhaps the other Morris twin, Klay Thompson or they take a flyer on Biyombo.
There have been no real talk of trade ups, perhaps they could look at a deal with say Toronto to get 5th pick and one of the future picks from Miami for 9th and 19th or even see if Cleveland would take 9th and 19th for 4th to try and get a shot at Kanter perhaps?

JNixonParticipantMarcus Morris needs to be their 9th pick probably. Diaw is inconsistent and he didn’t show commitment blowing up like that last year. He’s not more than an average backup these days anyway. Morris would factor immediately in the rotation with Thomas.
At 19 they will look at Biyombo if he’s there, or a guy like Chris Singleton or Tyler Honeycutt. They will look to improve on D down low or on the wing (even though all 3 of these guys aren’t ready to contribute much immediately, except fouls).

SmooveKRYPTParticipantJonas & Tobias Harris.

joecheck88ParticipantI have them taking Jordan Hamilton at 9 and Jeremy Tyler at 19. People think I have Hamilton too high but I like his size and scoring ability especially for this team. Tyler is a project but he may even play on Charlotte because they dont have many options at the 5.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThe Bobcats need basketball players. They could use help all over the board. Marcus gives them offensive creativity and scoring. Markieff gives them an interior presence, rebounding, defense, and toughness. Combine them two and the Bobcats get 2 proven winners who also have an innate ability to be able to communicate with each other on the court without talking because they are identicial twins.
Hopefully Tyrus Thomas can stay healthy next year and get some consistency but thus far Tyrus has shown no signs of becoming a steady factor as a starting PF in the league. Thomas has had trouble putting weight on, and adding any perimeter skills he may be used best as a Bo Outlaw force off the bench..
But this is no doubt a weak draft class. If the Bobcats could leave this draft with both Morris twins they would have to get an A grade for this draft. The Twins would gives the Bobcats both a winning mentality, toughness, defense, and versatility, everything they’re franchise is looking for.
Vucevic is a very good prospect who can start at Center for them from day one so he’s not a reach at all. Another guy the Bobcats could use is Marshon Brooks who will provide instant offense. I also wouldn’t rule out another PG.

Mr. 19134ParticipantAnd can we stop saying Diaws name? He’s went from one of the best all around players in the league to a fat waste of cap space for the Bobcats. They need to trade him to a winning team. Possibly a team like the Mavs would be interested.

HitsterParticipantI could see perhaps the Knicks being interested in Diaw as he played under Coach D’Antoni before but who they could trade the Bobcats way way be a struggle maybe Balkman and Turiaf. I like Diaw for the Mavs also but again who do the Mavs send back, Haywood may interest the Bobcats but he has 4 guaranteed years on his deal so unless Dallas took say Diop off their hans then I could not see that happening.

royk927ParticipantHamilton at 9 then brooks then hope vuve is available or a big falls. Sials is high on Kwame and maybe he finally does get it. But anyways they need Scoring and these seem to be two of the best at that. that would give them a young dynamic tandem at sg and sf (from a offensive standpoint. the Morris twins are nice but i see them both as fours in NBA. Charlotte has a lot of pfs already so why load up the roster with two more.
