festar35ParticipantAnyone out there that you think would benefit greatly from a change if scenery?
Top of the list for me is Andrew Wiggins, I think it would be a benefit for both him and the T-Wolves. Jimmy Butler’s feelings are well know by this point and the trade rumors have kind of been more about him but I would be keeping him there for Towns’ running mate as I just think he fits better. Wiggins can flat out score the ball that much is clear the rest of his game needs work especially defensive motivation. It’s an example of what can go wrong about growing through the draft, having your key players so young means their habits can be a little off-course. A new environment where he has to acclimate to a new organization and their culture, rather than players coming into “his organization” where he is comfortable could be the perfect reboot for him.
Locations that could work:
Brooklyn – (Young and developing a nice culture, he would have time to adjust as they still require work to start winning regularly)
Indiana – (Really good working culture with Oladipo in town, but Wiggins would be required to acclimate much faster & the chemistry is key in Indiana. 20ppg scorer would be nice though)
Miami – (Really good coaching staff, strong winning culture and Wiggins would be a very legitimate talent on the roster for first time in awhile)Others:
Aaron Gordon – Smart for him to take the money & for Orlando to keep talent (even if to trade it later) I still think his potential will be maximized else where.John Wall – I think he is stuck in a little bit of a rut with the team he has in Washington, they are still very good but I think they were just as good without him. A team with an established alpha that he could play next to as a very good 2nd option, think Paul joining Harden in Houston. Next to an Anthony Davis or Giannis Antetokoumpo would be a helluva a thing to see. He views Washington as “his team” which through no malice on his behalf has a very negative impact on Beal & Porter Jr.

festar35ParticipantUpon reflection Wiggins in Indiana wouldn’t really be a fit, but Aaron Gordon stills makes a lot of sense for Indiana & Utah for that matter.

HobbyOGParticipantI agree Wiggins need a change but it’s going to be hard to move that contract..He’s overpayed. And dude doesn’t have that fire to want to be great. You see all these summer workout videos and I ain’t seen one of Wiggins. Wouldn’t be surprise if Toronto pull the trigger on him next off-season when they have cap space. Good for marketing reasons..

HitsterParticipantI feel Pacers possibly need to move one of Turner and Sabonis as their games are very similar and in the right situation both could thrive. Nothing against the guys but they don’t really go as a duo together.
John Wall if he is moved would need to be this season as next year his mega deal will kick in and moving someone on $37 million would be hard just to make cap levels or trade pieces work.
Wiggins to Toronto always seems a good fit and Thibs would love Kawhi on his team if you want a fun one.

festar35ParticipantSabonis and Turner play very different games. Turner is perimeter orientated offensively and a strong rim protector, Sabonis plays more out of post, in the pick ‘n’ roll and is far more of a passer.
The issue is can either of them guard the new age 4’s that can play on the perimeter – ideally it’ll be Sabonis as Turner is a strong rim protector.

OhCanada-ParticipantNobody is gonna take Wiggins contract until he proves he’s worth it. He’s the 20th highest paid player in the NBA and hasnt proved to be a top 50 player. This is his 5th year in the NBA. His contract takes up a qaurter of a teams cap room and it has 3 years remaining. Only teams that would accept a trade for him would be rebuilding teams that have cap space that wont be filled anytime soon but they wouldnt be able to offer much.
